I've been playing harp for 40 years and always struggled with 3rd position until I saw this video. WTF! You made it so easy to understand!! Thanks so much. Now it's time to woodshed.

i recommend getting a solid two draw bend before you even try three draw. The two draw bend is vital for good cross harp (2nd pos)
important to understand also is that, every half step is a note. the third draw can be bent 1.5 steps, thus you can play 4 distinct notes on the three draw. The two draw can be bent 1 step, thus allowing for 3 possible notes.
jason you are amazing ,how lucky are we people seriously,to have you is amazing ,,, its like madonna or richi blackmore would never give so much back to people like you do. thank you so much for gifting yourself to us ,love you to bits man.
People like you make it all worth while, But ultimatly I just love doing these and the world is so magnificent and beuatiful we could be gone from any minute so why not.
Hi Jason, Nick from Sheffield , South Yorkshire here..On the the 3rd at the beginning..I'm having trouble gettin the bend...any tips. And i thought i was good..lovin it man!
Thanks for the great lesson Jason. You added in the 2 blow (major second) to the blues scale on the lower octave. How does that fit in? It's not part of any scale that I know...
In third pos. it is the two not the major or the minor really just the two and it's part of many minor scales (Dorian, Harmonic minor, aeolian are three off the top of my head...Try those.
Hey I use crappy old tuners like "Korg" etc...they work good enough for me...You can get a great tuner like a Peterson strobe tuner...which you can now DOWNLOAD a digital version of! those work better obviously...but any cheap 10 dollar tuner with a microphone will work.
Good playing J, my favorite position, lots of chords and chromatic possibilities. When are we gonna get together and you teach me? :-P I'm sure Brady wouldn't mind ha!
You make it sound so easy and you did make it a little more easy with that lesson.Thnaks for all the lesson you and the rest of the gang give back... hey jason merry christmas to you and you friends and family.. can not wait till you come back to AJ right outside of Philly
Possibly the most useful 3rd pos lesson online. It's handy to see how you work the lower octave. You've given me a little more confidence down there, thanks mate.
Please DO make another video on blues in 3rd position. You know you have it in you. :D

Try using a T sound at first...if all fails look up adjusting action/offset on the reed...could be the harp...
