Most final fantasy games aren't connected to each other, this is a prequel to 7. I think the one your talking about is X, which has a sequel (X-2). The girls your referring to are Yuna, Rikku, and Paine I believe.

umm i have played the old ones for the ps2 with the 3 girls what happened to them oviously i didnt keep with the story but any way are the girls gone or still there in the new one.

Great Music Great game=baddass video nice job......as for Cloud he was experimented on by Hojo and as a result he was able to absorb some of Zacks memories and abilities. Which is why at the begining of FF7 Cloud was remembering what Zack did as if he did it.
