can you show us some pictures of what you looked like before you went on the raw food diet? just because it would be really interesting to see the physical difference that raw food can make :)
I'd like to adopt a low fat raw vegan diet because I would love to live off fruits so baaad. I've always felt this way for months now, but I'm really concerned because now I think I may have IBS. Only problem, I highly suspect it may really be a fructose malabsorption, which will kill any dream of me being able to reconcile my desires for healthy food, great tasting food, and CONVENIENT food! In fact, up until a year ago, I ate so many frozen dinners...
@rpmangin ...until I FINALLY got so frustrated with them that I decided to start cooking, but even now, it's limited to just whole-grain pasta, meats, eggs, potatoes, and other cooked vegetables. I am starting to phase in other grains, but for now, those will just replace those PROCESSED whole-grain pastas! Anyway, my concern is, since I eat a lot of fruit as well (to fight off my old demons of just munching on whatever junk food is available in all my co-workers' candy dishes)...
@rpmangin ...I am afraid I may have developed fructose malabsorption as well, and since that condition is clinically irreversible, that means I am too late to adopt a low fat raw vegan diet. I guess I'll just have to deny my sweet tooth forever and get nearly all of my calories from fat and protein (the paleo diet), with tons of raw vegetables being my sole source of carbs, vitamins, minerals, and fiber, AND give up on convenience eating (other than the raw veggies) forever.
Nice juicer in the background... would make a better homogenizer if you bought a juice press, eh? The K&K juicer .... I recommend it. You can still get a new one if you want nowadays.
I'm 15 and I used to be a vegetarian from age 10-13 and vegan from 13-14 and raw vegan for a couple weeks! I felt sooo good and healthy when I was a vegan but I don't really want to only eat vegan anymore. I do want to eat a lot more raw food and more healthy food but it's hard when in high school. Do you have any tips on eating healthy and maybe 60% raw when in high school? :)
This is a very sane and helpful video. I am new to raw foods and have been juicing and adding in more fresh fruits and veg for a couple of months. I can't wait to be part of road to raw. The timing hasn't been right yet but I hope to join in october if you are still hosting the 21 day challenge.
SwimStretchRepeat ... blessings and thank you for your honesty. My crutches are lack of community, lack of resources, distance, affordability, and challenges with space, energy, and my sanity (single, TBI mom w/ autistic child). Last July didn't work for me, so starting over tomorrow. Still have to get my butcher block kitchen island put together which I'm using as my raw foods "kitchen" area. I look forward to getting my new vita-mix set up.
@carolinemaul1 You can do it! Just start small. I'm trying to add 2 fruits a day to my meals, instead of take away foods. Then i crave the fruits and it is a natural subsitution :-) Thanks for your supportive words!
Thanks for posting this. I like your approach of not being hard on yourself.
I want to dive in whole-heartedly but what stops me is: lack of accountability, lack of community, desire to comfort with food and laziness. There, i said it :) I feel lighter just saying that. I do feel the need for a cleanse...something to rebalance myself. I suffer from migraines a lot lately.
@TheRawalicious Yes! Started today with carrot, celery, apple, lemon juice. Yum! It was like a instant jolt of goodness......my body said, "Hello there! I've missed you" to the goodness. Almost instantly, I felt better. Amazing how foggy I am most of the time, without realizng it, and that such a simple thing can take me out of that fog. Thanks for the motivation!!

Thank you for this info. I tend to say that 'this is it' but now realize that transitioning can take time, sometimes a few years.

@SwimStretchRepeat Do you drink coffee? Coffee causes migraines. If I drink coffee for a week I start getting bad headaches.
