@numberonemikufan Nice! A lot of people like this pleated skirt because they do cosplay. I think even a group of facebook shared the video. I'm glad it's useful :)
Not at all! People have this idea printed deeply in their mind that only old ladies can sew but that is sooo wrong! Young people do like to sew as well! I started liking it when I was 8. I used to make dresses for my dolls ^_^'
It's perfectly normal, keep up the good work and spirit :)
@MysteryCraftGirl i was kidding i know my mom liked it when she she was i think 14. actually most my friends were interested in what i made (a poptart plushie) and wanted to make one and my other friend sews too.
Hi Im going to use ur tutorial to help me make a skirt out of an old pair or jeans and some silk red tartan :) Thanks for posting, that was easy to follow.
@acs4k3 What you're thinking of isn't really a pleated skirt: it's called a gored skirt. If you look it up I believe you'll find that's what you're looking for.
@acs4k3 i think you should try to fold it a little bit diagonal , so your folding it smaller at the waist and ist goes a little big wider / bigger up to the end :)
@acs4k3 um, i take a pattern (cutout) and iron the skirt that way and then stitch it. it takes a lot of materiel though but what you're talking about is an a line box pleat skirt.
@acs4k3 It's the same general concept. But, you'd have a curved piece of fabric that is measured to be quite a bit larger than your waist and you fold it to your desire. Easier said than done, yes but this is the general idea the shape of the fabric is just different .
@MysteryCraftGirl My friends get a kick out of when I try to sew. THe only thing is, I can't find me sewing machine since I moved and I have to hand-sew it. I'm done the first part (I'm trying it with some scrap material until I do the good one) and now I have to sew the two pieces together. It took me two and a half hours just to get both halves done! But, I'll give it a try (in the meantime, I need to find that sewing machine)
@SarahRocks240 Oh not having a sewing machine is really a big handicap. I can handsew but it looks so much better when it's done with the machine! You're actually really courageous to try it by hand. You're motivated! Keep it that way and once you'll get your sewing machine, get wild :P
Thanks for the song, not so much the skirt

Do you know how to make the pleats so that they are smaller at the waist and wider at the hem?
acs4k3 4 months ago
@acs4k3 I have no idea... :S Sorry. I was thinking making different sizes of folds but that wouldn't work out since the fabric is of an even size..
