  • Thanks for the song, not so much the skirt

  • @grace8matangira well at least you like the song :)

  • @MysteryCraftGirl Nice outlook

  • thank u thank u :333 i needed the pleated skirt for my hatsune miku cosplay :3

  • @numberonemikufan Nice! A lot of people like this pleated skirt because they do cosplay. I think even a group of facebook shared the video. I'm glad it's useful :)

  • hey are the pleats going to stay there after you wash it?

  • @TheMuddy208 Yes! It's verry resistant don't worry!

  • Great job!

  • @emeraldile Thank youuu :D

  • is it wierd that i am a 12 yr old girl trying to sew like (no offense to anyone cuz im just kidding) old-lady? lol.

  • @macy2nene

Not at all! People have this idea printed deeply in their mind that only old ladies can sew but that is sooo wrong! Young people do like to sew as well! I started liking it when I was 8. I used to make dresses for my dolls ^_^'

It's perfectly normal, keep up the good work and spirit :)

btw: I feel pretty young at 20 years old =P lol

  • @MysteryCraftGirl i was kidding i know my mom liked it when she she was i think 14. actually most my friends were interested in what i made (a poptart plushie) and wanted to make one and my other friend sews too.

  • tell me if any one makes any doll clothes by handsewing on here. i know some but not all. if u do then please tell me!

  • @macy2nene I'm sorry I never tried...

  • @MysteryCraftGirl it ok thanks

  • @macy2nene yes I did and still do lol. what exactly do you need to know?

  • @tranglexy i just don't know how or what exactly i shud make. i also like to make pony bead animals, draw fashion designs, and stuff. do you?

  • That was great, you could wear that to the office and then jazz it up for evening wear. Very nice- basic but so versatile. More vids please?

  • @7cakemomma5 Thanks! Of course more videos! =P

  • Hi Im going to use ur tutorial to help me make a skirt out of an old pair or jeans and some silk red tartan :) Thanks for posting, that was easy to follow.

  • @ange76prkr Oh great idea! Thanks to you!

  • Do you know how to make the pleats so that they are smaller at the waist and wider at the hem?

  • @acs4k3 I have no idea... :S Sorry. I was thinking making different sizes of folds but that wouldn't work out since the fabric is of an even size..

  • @acs4k3 What you're thinking of isn't really a pleated skirt: it's called a gored skirt. If you look it up I believe you'll find that's what you're looking for.

  • @acs4k3 i think you should try to fold it a little bit diagonal , so your folding it smaller at the waist and ist goes a little big wider / bigger up to the end :)

    know what i mean? :D

  • @acs4k3 that is normally cut on the geez I forgot the name circle smthg like 50s style -semi or large circle cut -

  • @Elementfifth Thanks! "50s large circle cut" did it for me :)

  • @acs4k3 um, i take a pattern (cutout) and iron the skirt that way and then stitch it. it takes a lot of materiel though but what you're talking about is an a line box pleat skirt.

  • @acs4k3 It's the same general concept. But, you'd have a curved piece of fabric that is measured to be quite a bit larger than your waist and you fold it to your desire. Easier said than done, yes but this is the general idea the shape of the fabric is just different .

  • LOVE!!!!!

  • @HavenLily thanks!

  • thankz alot for this vid! its going to help me aloooottt with my cosplaying

  • @SailorMars777 you're welcome. :)

  • @SailorMars777 that's why I came here too!! :)

  • a tutorial made by a beginner is really good for a person like me who just started to want to sew :) thanks!

  • @Vocaloid898 Thank you! I enjoy sharing things with other people as well as learning from them. :)

  • Looks good! ^_^ I'm a beginner too! Yay. PS <3 Flaming lips!!! <3

  • @heppkatt thank you!!! =)

nice to have another beginner among us :D

    yeah they're great <3

  • It would probably have looked better if you actually cut the band properly...

  • @missjuicysista Sure it would. I'm kinda new that's why...

  • I think I'm just going to pay someone to make my skirt, I couldn't be able to do this even if I tried!!

  • @SarahRocks240 lol it's actually very easy give it a try and you will be surprised by what you can do

  • @MysteryCraftGirl My friends get a kick out of when I try to sew. THe only thing is, I can't find me sewing machine since I moved and I have to hand-sew it. I'm done the first part (I'm trying it with some scrap material until I do the good one) and now I have to sew the two pieces together. It took me two and a half hours just to get both halves done! But, I'll give it a try (in the meantime, I need to find that sewing machine)

  • @SarahRocks240 Oh not having a sewing machine is really a big handicap. I can handsew but it looks so much better when it's done with the machine! You're actually really courageous to try it by hand. You're motivated! Keep it that way and once you'll get your sewing machine, get wild :P

  • thank you for this! XD i'm making a rena ryuugu cosplay for comic con, and this really helped! :D

  • hey.

    thx for the tut. =)

    What fabric did you use?

  • @Marilolthisishard Hey! Thanks for your comment. I used silky fabric.
