Is Dexter giving up in 2010? If he was worth a damn you'd think someone would put him in a truck ride or ARCA ride. He must be the only guy who thinks he's a racer that wasn't in Daytona this past week.
If you think dexter is a good driver... watch the first couple of seconds of the video "ONE CAREER NATIONWIDE RACE" That is not enough experience to be put in a Cup car. He is determined, I like him, but I think he needs a little more experience first.
aparrently he stepped it HARD on the gas after he made contact with wall... which wasn't smart cuase if u slam down on the pedal after ur tail sways like that all ur doing is getting the tail even further around.. and in this cause spinning him. he should have eased off the throttle-- more grip on the front wheels. duh.
he wouldnt have made the field if he backed out of the gas, so he knew he had to stay on the gas and hope it would stick if there was a glimmer of hope to make the field
he did the right thing, just too bad it didnt work out for him
What the hell makes this guy think he's ready for Cup? Look at his ARCA stats. He's average at best. I guess he doesn't believe he needs to run any Nationwide races. What a tool throwing money away like that.
Watch Dexter at Bristol and see if you might change your mind. I think it is cool that he can follow his dreams. It costs nearly the same money to race the truck or nationwide series' and the payoff isn't good enough. Don't be so negative about Dexter, he just needs some more seat time in the cup car.
The financial payoff in the other series' may not be as good but there's the payoff in experience. Most guys came through the ranks that way. Apparently Dexter doesn't think he needs that. He also wouldn't need to worry about cost if he was able to get a ride and wasn't forced to field his own car.
He needs to go back to DEXTER"S LAB! lol
But seriously, hope to see him in cup races in the future

It was a perfect drive and he knew what he was doing."

Waltrip was referring to him trying to save the car when he said it was a "perfect drive".
