I am not a Christian, but I absolutely love this music! I find monastic chants to be very relaxing and inspiring. They make me want to learn Latin and are perfect for studying (just like Jedimouse says).
A "blessing in disguise" poor heart condition, i was not able to pusue monastic voc. thanks to modern tech. I can turn my room a "cell" meditate and pray along with the monks of different orders. Many thanks and God Bless.
Father, I abandon myself into your hands; do with me what you will. Whatever you may do, I thank you: I am ready for all, I accept all. Let only your will be done in me, and in all your creatures – I wish no more than this, O Lord. Into your hands I commend my soul; I offer it to you with all the love of my heart, for I love you Lord, and so need to give myself, to surrender myself into your hands, without reserve, and with boundless confidence, for you are my Father.

Sounds veru well!! I think that the western christians have veru good traditional chuch music(vocal one). I dont like at all new chuch music with instruments.
FYI "Byzantine Chant" is vowel based with eight tones reflecting (8) eight human emotions and has both a joy and sorrow mode. The tempo is analogous to the emotion expressed by the tone. For example, Tone protos (a') is the joy tone and the resurrection services are in this tone and has a quickened tempo to it as is also Tone tritos (Gamma) as done in the dogmatic troparia of the resurrection. Plagal fourth tone for example is the sorrow/lamentation tone used extensively during Lent

I use the music that you post to study. With my ADHD, it calms and relaxes me, and allows me to focus. I thank you for posting it. It's getting me through law school.
