It’s just a matter of training. Wikus sounds a lot like he’s used to speak Afrikaans, which again is very similar to Dutch. So, for me it sounds familiar in a way—I’m German and the Netherlands are just 60 km away from my hometown.

Same here, and every time Oliver (the boy) was left alone I got so nervous that one of those sadistic, sick soldiers were going to find him and maybe kill him I'd might be ready to start clawing at the TV if it happened.
