we can only speculate what would of happened if Kobe stayed in Charlotte,became the leader from day 1 & a few yrs later got help from players like gasol,etc

Like MJ,a 2003 Kobe in a team like the 09 lakers would easily have 30pts+8ass+8reb pg vs teams like pacers,sixers & nets which lakers faced in finals w/shaq.

For 8yrs kobe played w/shaq,not fair to compare stats between MJ & Kobe.

mj is a better athlete but even today i still shake my head over the unbelievable things kobe's done.

@brunolrhl Kobe got a ton of open looks from teams focusing their defense on Shaq and he still couldn't shoot a high percentage. Imagine Mike's fg% (which already dwarfs Kobe's) with more open looks, although teams wouldn't be so quick to double and triple Shaq with MJ on the team as opposed to Kobe. Look at the team MJ averaged 8 assists on, then compare that to Kobe's 90 million dollar roster, it's not even close. Also, how many more assists would Jordan have playing with Shaq?

@TwistedMetalvids - Not only is he better in most people's opinion, but it's also based on hardcore statistical fact. Jordan is far superior to Kobe in almost ever category. (Barring treys and free throws - but that is only because Bryant takes more of both and law of averages tells us this would give anyone a chance of having a higer %)
