  • We used this to leave my Dad's funeral by just this month - January 2012. He used to be mistaken, in his younger days, for Eric Morecambe but I remember him chortling happily to them when they were on TV with me trying to convince my boys that it wasn't grandad on the telly!

  • This was my granddad's funeral song:')

  • had this at my nan's funeral, made my day;D

  • :) What a cheerful song for a cold winter evening....it makes me think of summer on the beach in Australia...I don't really know who these guys are...but I like it.

  • @ceciliawyu Type into youtube 'Morecambe and Wise Andre Previn', you won't regret it.

  • @ceciliawyu Quite simply the greatest comedy duo in the history of British TV. Eric died in 1984, Ernie in 1999, but material like the eccentric performance of Grieg's piano concerto with Andre Previn still raises laughs, and that sketch is now over 40 years old.

  • @cbak12sg Thanks. They are a little before my time but I like most of the comedians I see when I go to Edinburgh festival..I will check out this Grieg's piano concerto suggestion....have fun!

  • did they write this

  • love this song it always makes me smile

  • me and my mate sang this (and did the dance) on the way home from school, we even had people joining in! Shows how much love there still is for Eric and Ernie :D x

  • the crazies film brought me here lol

  • I've been singing this song for days! :) I loved Morcambe and Wise as well as the Two Ronnies, big fan of them both!

  • Brilliant!

  • i want this at my funeral tooo

  • This song played at my grandads funeral a few weeks ago. He was a great, great man, and a great Morcambe and Wise fan. This brings me a tear and happiness at the same time.

    R.I.P. Grandad.

  • @SlipperyBowlingBall Same at my grandads, sad but makes you smile at the same time :)

  • Fabulous! And anyone who likes the song should take a look at The Jive Aces great new version (sort of Eric & Ernie meet Louis Prima!) on youtube! Just search for Jive Aces Bring Me Sunshine.

  • @SwinginDrummer Thanks for the tip about the Jive Aces version !!

  • This was the song at my grandad's funeral <3 Always a favourite of his :)

  • I'm surprised Morecambe FC haven't yet appionted Dennis Wise as their manager.

  • They were wonderful and never fail to cheer me up :)

  • Victoria Woods tribute to "Eric and Ernie" has just been on the BBC. Just glad someone decided show their rise to fame something which is now sadly lacking all we have is The X Factor (yawn) and Britains Got talent (an even bigger yawn) M &W had to work for years to hone their act. Would Simon Cowell have told them they did not have talent! Thanks for posting this I'm a Shrewsbury Town Fan and am planning to come to Morecambe to see Erics statue this summer

  • Am i wrong in thinking Eric & Ernie were more of an English tradition rather than a "British" phenominon?

  • I wish they'd show some of the regular M and W shows from the 70s again, instead of just the Christmas specials. Eric, Ernie and Eddie Braben were turning out quality comedy week after week, not just at Christmas, so we should get a chance to laugh at those shows as well.

  • Eric and Ernie will live on forever, who is not forgotten shall never die. <3

  • probably the greatest double act of all time and when eric morecambe died it was iike a member of your own family had passed away

  • World's Greatest Comedy Duo of all time. Loved these two guys and was brought up with them in 1960's, 70's, 80's. Their top show and possibly the biggest tv audience of them all, 35 million, Christmas Special 1973. I still laugh now when the shows are repeated. It sadly ended when Eric fell on his head in 1984, Ernie left us in 1999. They were fab, we will never see there likes again. Here's to you Eric and Ernie, sadly missed, but not forgotten.

  • this is my ring tone

  • not correct. morecambe aswell.

  • not sure why the crest of morcambe fc is shown, Eric was a Luton Town man.

  • I love em n I envy the people who grew up with them but I also feel sad for them x

  • envy me, envy me, they are a major part of my life, i miss them badly.

  • I'm only 18 but I cnt get enuf of these 2!!!! They poked fun at evry1 but it was neva offensive!!! Makes me sad that they r gone.... love em xx

  • Even as a 15 year old boy

I find these 2 guys hilerious

    RIP Eric and Ern

  • There is something wrong with ERICS STATUE....... its missing Ernie...

  • I just love Eric and Ern. They were the ultimate proof that you don't need to swear every 5 seconds to get a laugh. And it is still funny 30 years on. Long live Morecambe and Wise!

  • Eric & Little 'Ern are my heroes, how much love & laughter they gave us:)

  • Fab...

  • Because Im a Morecambe FC fan and we play this before every home game - he LOVED morecambe and the club itself, and would have been delighted with the clubs rise into the football league, nothing to stop you uploading your Luton Town version haha ;)

  • lol true true would be more accurate lol

  • as you say, eric was luton, but watching this devestates me, my whole life eric and ernie were part of it, so sad that they are gone, so many tears in my eyes for these loveable guys

  • why is there pics of morecambe fc most people no that luton town was his true club thats why he became the chairman of luton town fc and thats why in some of the comedy sketches he did it involved somthing to do with luton. great song tho anywayz lol

  • not sure why you have you 2 thumbs down, you are absoulty correct.

  • he was 100% Luton

  • @rignall92 the clue is in the name, his real name was eric bartholemew but it has changed to eric MORECAMBE so if he was so into luton, why didn't he change it to eric luton?

  • @shrimpboyz beacuse eric luton didnt have the ring that eric morecambe did and if he so morecambe why did he become chairman of luton

  • @rignall92 Because he lived in Harpenden which is quite near Luton, and because he was such a massive football fan in general, he started going to Luton as it was then his local club. And when you start going to a team's matches regularly, even if you're not from the area, you kind of get caught in the atmosphere and the routine and become part of them. All credit to him, he supported them when they were shit, if he was alive now he'd still be supporting them even now they're shit again.

  • My Grandad's song <3

God rest him and them :) xx

  • eric morecambe was a hatters ner ner ner!!!!!

  • Great song!

  • happy song :)

  • Great thanks for uploading.

    A far gentler time :)

  • guaranteed to cheer me up. :D

  • i love this song it alwase puts a smile on my face when im feeling down

  • lovee this songg <3 these guyss aree awesomee :-P xO

  • It's a lovely tribute, but this is the EMI LP version (re-recorded) rather than the much more raw arrangement at the end of each television show. Somewhat neutered musically - too much glockenspiel! Thank you nonetheless; they were peerless.

  • legends, much?!

  • best comics ever we miss you boys

  • one of the best songs ever! btw great video

  • this song is brill it alwase chears me up all the time

  • thats the problem ... their likes of human humour isn't part of the reality of people like russell brand

  • This song was played at my nan's funeral.

Every time I hear it now, I just think of that day.

    It cheered me up alot.

    :)

  • absolute comedy royalty...often imitated never better..or even equalled for that matter
