But if you prefer to have a interpretation handed to you here's one for this scene The chipmunk girl represents Death and the song she sings is singing the praises of the afterlife "in heaven" . David Lynch has said many times that he drew inspiration for this film from the bible so alot of the imagery and themes can carry a religious tone to them.
