  • good song

  • my god, the way she screams during the battle. my heart couldn't endure it

  • DEVOLAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!! *screams*

  • Warning: Playing this with Skyrim will lead to multiple orgasms.

  • @Kikard

Oh my, totally trying that out. Is there a mod of some kind that makes it play within Skyrim?

  • @galvenize2 You might be able to put it in the config files like in Oblivion, but I'm not sure.

  • Comment removed

  • @galvenize2 Just hunt around the install folder for the music files.

  • @galvenize2 yea, it's called headphones and youtube

  • @galvenize2 If not then someone will be willing to make one.

  • I don't wanna live on this planet everymore

  • that feel when you realized you are the bad guy.

  • @galvenize2 That's today!!!

  • THE BEST SONG OF THE GAME !!!

  • okay since people are fighting over kingdom hearts on a nier video how about this?

Kingdom hearts and NieR are equally epic with equally epic music NOW ENJOYS THE MUSIC!

  • What does Kingdom Hearts have to do with... anything in Nier?

They weren't even made by the same people. Nier was published by Square Enix, but Cavia developed it.

  • @SeraphimSwordmaster What i read that nier is linked to drakengard , thats what i heard ,

  • @VerusWiseman yes the two games are linked. SPOILERS the E ending of drakengard has the main character of the game, Caim, and angelus the dragon, in pursuit of the mother of the grotesqueries through a rift which leads them to modern day japan. there, the duo slay the mother, yet are shot down by a jet fighter. Unknowingly, by killing the mother of the grotesqueries, it released a disease which took most of the population. that disease was what caused people to make the replicants (cont...)

  • @VerusWiseman and become shadows of their former selves. so technically, by ending the threat of the grotesqueries from destroying their world, they doom that of the Nier canon. and Nier himself further more by killing the shadowlord and ceasing all ability of the shadows returning to their old bodies, ceasing the continued populating of the human race, dooming it to extinction. SO, blame Caim.

  • @lordshin yup :) you're right :)

i wanted that they make a HD series of drakengard

i also want the sequel of nier :D

  • @lordshin the saddest thing about new game + is that you discover that everything you did was selfish and leads to the end of human civilization and you are still going for this because there is no other way of ending the game(without killing all the humans)

  • @nikodem123asdf To be fair, both Niers were to blame. Gestalt didn't want to wait another hundred years, and Replicant refused to accept his gestalt as a part of himself.

  • @KawaiiDesuNekoBCSK Devola and Papola are also to blame if they got Grimoire Weiss themselves instead of sending Nier to do it everything would have worked out

  • @nikodem123asdf Very true.

  • why are people talking about kingdom hearts on a nier video i love both games ^.^

though i like kingdom hearts art style more :P

but Nier is more mature but im still a kid so .... ye XD

  • @Burbiaan rememeber in kingdom hearts the heartless are the soul of the people who lost their vessel(nobodies). in nier the bad guys are souls(heartless) looking for their body an empty shell.l. the nobodies are also trying to regain their hearts by getting the heartless. they have similar themes with very different outcomes + developmnt

but yes i doubt theyll have blood and ACTUAL deaths in kingdom hearts lol

  • To the people discussing about Kingdom Hearts.

    Disney Logic.

    Can we move on now?

  • Friend: "Ace, why are you crying?"

    *plays entire song*

Friend: "What the hell, man?! It won't stop!"

    Me: "I know! ;_;"

    Friend: "Play it again!"

  • One of the best boss fight songs I have EVER heard. Right up there with Chrono Cross, Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy IX, and Legend of Dragoon on my boss theme list...

I REALLY need to replay this...

  • NO ONE STOPS!

  • "Stop? You want me to stop? You think I have the luxury to stop? You cut down my sister like an animal, and you tell me to stop? No one stops! It's way too late to stop! NO ONE STOPS!"

I choke up every time I get to that point.

  • @zweihand Wouldn't anybody choke up at that point? Especially when you realize through New Game+ that everything was caused by misunderstanding...in the end, the entire story of Nier Gestalt is a story of tragedy.

  • @ElementroidsXLR New Game+ made me feel like shit... and yet, I kept coming back for more. Reading the Grimoire NieR made me feel even worse, but I just couldn't pull myself away. Hats off to Cavia, their swan-song game is, as far as I'm concerned, the most compelling, touching, and tragic story in all of gaming.

  • @zweihand It just...well, don't you ever feel that you have the duty of making a story get a happy ending? I know that when I'm in the character's shoes, I would move Hell and Heaven to make things better - especially with what happened....

  • @zweihand It kinda kills it for me that I haven't played Drakengard though...never the less Nier was just amazing

  • @zweihand I think I died a little inside when she said that. This make really made you feel like a complete bastard.

  • @zweihand That makes me cry *when Popola and Devola had sister moment and Emil died for his friends*, so did when Fyra cried, and when Kaine sacrificed herself :( Its so sad but yet so beautiful!

  • @xXKillLucyXx Errrrr.... Oops! When Fyra DIED*

  • @xXKillLucyXx I know that feel...

  • @xXKillLucyXx Emil didn't die. There is an ending cutscene for one of the endings where Emil lande in the desert as a head but was still alive and he began searching for his body

  • @zweihand I always laugh my ass off because it was their own fault. "You cut down my sister like an animal" They attacked Nier, Kaine and Emil in the fucking first place so I always go "THATS WHAT YOU GET BITCH!!!!" XD

  • @Metroidkalib Eh. To each their own, I guess.

  • @zweihand :3

  • This is just amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I haven't even played this game. and this is still awesome.

  • this song is spicy :P

  • Comment removed

  • 2 people need new ears

  • awesome

  • What language is this? I'm picking up hints of French or Swedish, but I can't really tell.

  • @REXanadu

"The vocals were provided by Freesscape vocalist, Emi Evans. The vocals are sung in a number of artificial languages created by Evans to sound like futuristic versions of Gaelic, Portuguese, Spanish, Italian, French, English and Japanese."

  • @Skaelis That's a lot of effort to make beautiful sounding gibberish. Glad they went through the trouble, though.

  • Dat Drum

  • this game just game me the chills all the way through. I love it.

  • I think I may be the only one who liked having the data for this game deleted after the 4th ending.. It fit it.. oh so perfectly..

    Bravo, Square Enix.. Bravo....

  • @wheredarknessislight

You mean Cavia...but I think the ending for the 4th is appropriate. Sad but appropriate...it kinda crosses the barrier of just being in the game and mingles the storyline with real life.

  • Damn, I hoped Popola and Devola would sing this forever...

  • is it possible... To get to 100 likes without a dislike?

  • @ForbiddenEgo

Now now don't you give out bad intentions to people out there :P.

  • @galvenize2

    Mmmm Good idea!

  • @galvenize2 Too late. :(!

  • @ForbiddenEgo You don't get to 100 likes without getting a few dislikers...

  • @ForbiddenEgo One person ragequit because they couldn't get past the fishing minigame. B)

  • @zweihand Hey, I had trouble with that XD

  • @wheredarknessislight So did I, only because the game didn't give me any hint that the right fishing spot was on a large beach through a cave off to the right of the town. The minigame itself was shittily designed but manageable, and it gave you the fish after failing three times anyway. (well, after about half an hour of 'practice' fishing in the wrong spot, I nailed it on my first try when I found the right area. XD)

  • @ForbiddenEgo

    Just one more...

  • @ForbiddenEgo *looks at the sole dislike*

What in God's name have you done, man?

  • @REXanadu Oh God...

  • @ForbiddenEgo

    nah

  • I like Square's second-string games way better than the bastardize series they call "Final Fantasy" lately. All the Final Fantasy games now-a-days are all visuals and no story. Nier was the first Square game since Kingdom Hearts II(2006) I played daily because it was that interesting. I hope Nier is a sign for better things to come.

  • @amalmaru I did, but if you look at it in a way it was more aimed at adults where KH was aimed at the younger gamers. Nier contains far more adult situations and realism when it comes to the harsh reality of what its like to fall short, to not be strong enough, fast enough. The consequences being friends and family your character has lived with for a relatively long time rather than strangers met shortly after the story begins. (looking at you donald and goofy...)

  • Comment removed

  • @amalmaru

Did you just try to compare Nier to KH? Do you know how idiotic that sounds?

Nobodies were "strong people whose bodies were shed after they lost their heart."

Gestalts and replicants were the result of an experiment to wait out the disease, no where near the same .

  • @phazon55 im sorry i only thought of it that way sorry for just voicing my opinion

  • @amalmaru OMG you did NOT just compare the convoluted bullshit that is the KH storyline with Nier.

  • @Kronosfall91 look as i said to the other guy, that was just a crossing thought i had on the subject, i did not mean to offend anybody...but this is a bit far to be bashing me over an opinion...lets drop it and enjoy the music alright?

  • @Kronosfall91 Seriously can't BOTH games be good? Just because Nier is awesome that doesn't make KH rule any less.... But haters gonna hate.

  • @Gogito4 I do no hate KH xDD In fact I've played every game there is and enjoyed them quite a bit. But it's storyline is convoluted bullshit (: in the less offensive way xD

  • @Kronosfall91 How could you enjoy a game whose storyline you think is bullshit? I only play it FOR the storyline like any other SE games.Gameplay only helps games.

  • @Gogito4 'Gameplay one helps games'. What the fuck does that even mean. And games can be fun even without storylines, take Star Ocean 4 for example. An absolutely terribly boring story but the gameplay is so fun I don't give a damn.

  • @chickmcjr Kthx bye.

  • @Gogito4

I like KH, but there are a lot of plotholes in there that really don't make sense. Nier kinda requires you to do your own research on the FULL story, but once you do, you realize it is a very complicated but beautiful story with colorful characters.

Both games have aspects that are good and bad. And there's more than just story. Some games are just cool and fun to play simply because of unique gameplay, such as original FFIII, which had no real storyline but great customization.

  • @Faeness Actually there really isn't any plotholes in the series. Nomura seems really determined to make sure there isn't it seems. I just takes a bit of digging to find things out and some massive paying attention abilities to certain lines.

  • @jayofthe400

Not plotholes per say, but things that don't really make logical sense. Like for example, how Kairi (after a full sleep) knew how to use a keyblade and was able to go against heartless. People argue that it's because she's special and she's a princess, but use of a weapon needs physical practice, not just pick it up and use it, let alone defeat anything with it, special or not.

  • @Faeness They were just shadows, the weakest kind of heartless possible it's like you beating a dog when they give you a sword, it will happen.

  • @Gogito4 You're analogies suck and your arguments are terrible. Shadows are the weakest kind of heartless sure, but they come in large numbers. You expect us to believe that Kairi, with no training in anything other than being useless could take on a group of them? Try something that actually makes sense.

  • @chickmcjr Then tell me, show me proof that Kairi killed a lot of them? You only saw her killing one or two shadows, for all we know Riku could have disposed of every last shadow as Kairi just defended herself and stayed out of harms way. Unless you can prove that Kairi owned the living crap of a lot of heartless that argument is null.

  • @Gogito4

They come in large numbers, not just one or two of them. In the game, if they DO come in numbers of one or two, they typically are stronger shadow that need training in order to overcome them. Even if Kairi DIDN'T kill a lot of them, killing one or two STILL has the matter of being useless to having training to kill something.

Even if she defended herself, it still takes training to know how to properly defend and react to opponents, especially opponents who mean you serious harm.

  • @Faeness What I'm saying is that while they DID come in big numbers, Kairi was just seen killing one or two of them, which is not that big of a deal since we've seen that one whack of any Keyblade takes care of a Shadow, which is not asking for much... even for Ms. Princess over there. Riku could easilly finish any shadow that came near her or protect her with his dark shield, or even snipe the ones that came near her with dark Firaga.

Point is: It isn't guaranteed that she can actually FIGHT.

  • @Gogito4 ...Uh...You know I was saying that Kairi couldn't beat them and you were saying that she could right? What exactly are you trying to say here? You do a backflip and then 'argue' against me using arguments that only support me. Do you actually know what you're writing?

  • @chickmcjr You're the one that doesn't understand.... I agreed to you in the part that she couldn't fight, I just pointed out that the scene is NOT contraditory with that as you only see her killing two shadows, which anyone could do, given a keyblade. My argument was in:

1-She shouldn't be able to beat the heartless.

2- She isn't seen killing them.

    Therefore:

    3-That scene is perfectly logical.

Please don't embarrass yourself any further. I don't like arguing with people who can't keep up.

  • @Gogito4 Funny how you speak of contradictions and embarassing yourself. Let's quote you shall we?

'I just pointed out that the scene is NOT contraditory with that as you only see her killing two shadows'

    'She isn't seen killing them'

I would like to bring to your attention where you say that she kills two of them and then you say that she isn't seen killing them. Contradictory much? Don't get too upset man, god forbid you should be wrong about this fictional universe.

  • @chickmcjr Dude... I feel like I'm talking to a dog.

We're discussing if the scene were Kairi and Riku were attacked was logical or not since, YOU said that Kairi couldn't kill them all.

I said the she isn't seen killing them all, making the scene perfectly logical. YOU try to match twoparts of my argument that weren't said at the same time therefore making your counter-argument useless

The first part of the text was a response, while the second part was my BASE ARGUMENT.

    Want a picture?

  • @Gogito4 What is your fascination with dogs? Beating dogs, talking to dogs...Get some friends man.

Kairi couldn't kill two heartless even if she did have a keyblade. Have you seen those fucking things? It's not like beating dogs or whatever you said, they dart about like little bitches. Kairi couldn't hit two if her life depended on it. Prove she could, without referencing the source material in question of course. Oh yeah, you can't. Because you're wrong.

  • @chickmcjr Fine I'll prove it.

She has muscles, from 656 to 850 to be exact, so she can take a keyblade and you know, swing it at their general direction, making it colide with their bodies, the probability that they dodge might exist, but there's also the probablility that they can't dodge, factoring the velocity of the blow and their awareness.

Proof that a human being like Kairi can hit to mindless beings. "She might not" is not a good counter argument for this.

Also I have a dog, sue me.

  • @Gogito4 Don't care, get the fuck out. We're trying to discuss Nier without some furfag shitting up the place with Kingdom Hearts garbage.

  • @zweihand Now wait a second. Some guy flames me and I'm supposed to take it quiet? I gave my opinion on a subject, he started to insult me with badly cooked theories so I crushed in an argument, and by the way YOU seem to be the same kind of person. And who asked you to care huh? Also you're kind of late, the argument was over one month ago... so yeah GTFO before you ruin a great song.

  • @Gogito4 Yeah, I came here a little over a month ago and saw a civilized discussion centered around Nier. I come back and see two idiots arguing about the details of a convoluted plot that's vastly inferior to Nier's well-crafted storyline. Seriously, anyone disgracing Nier by bickering over Kingdom Hearts shit needs to do everyone a favor and hang themselves. Nier >>>>>>>>>> Kingdom Hearts.

  • @zweihand K wait a second. I disgraced Nier? Explain to me how I did that. I even expressed that Nier is one of my favourite games. And you know what your argument sounds like? "I CAN'T BELIEVE PEOPLE CAN HAVE DIFFERENT OPINIONS THAN ME. MUST FLAME!"

What I said is that they are both great games with great storylines. It's OBVIOUS that some people will prefer one or the other but you can't really change that, now can you?

*Sigh* I can't believe I took your bait. Obvious troll is obvious.

  • @Gogito4 1. You disgraced Nier by not only mentioning Kingdom Hearts in what's meant to be a place reserved for discussing things correlating to this music, but BICKERING about the details of its half-assed play as well.

    2. [ ] ingdom Hearts

    [ ] great storyline

    Check one.

    3. Not trolling. As stated, I'm legitimately annoyed when people shit up what could have been a good thing. "Kairi can't use a keyblade, yes she can, no she can't, yes she can, BLAblaBLAblaBLAblaBLA," just shut the fuck up.

  • @zweihand Checked the two. It's my opinion, you can't change it. You mad?

  • @Gogito4 >he thinks Kingdom Hearts has a good storyline

I'll give you the first game, but every sequel went out of the way to raise 10 more questions for every 1 question answered, to give them an excuse to make more. 358/2 Days went full retard, and that was supposed to be a crucial aspect to the story. Regardless of however decent KH1's story may have been, it had nothing on Nier's expertly-crafted storyline.

    >You mad?

    Now who's the one trolling?

  • @zweihand Ok I'll just end this with this coment. For me the plot of the first game was bad. It only went uphill from here, and Days is just bellow KH2 for me in epicness. But regardless that's my opinion. I thought you WERE telling me to shut up, so if didn't understand what you meant I'm sorry. I just tried to stop one person from trashing KH and because of that, that discussion blew up. Now .... truce?

  • @Gogito4 While most KH fans I know thought KH2's plot raised too many questions (and was bogged down with yaoi connotations) and even the most die-hard of fans I know said 356/2 Days was abysmal... Sure, whatever. Truce.

  • @zweihand You can't change the fact that I like a game. And you can't try and attack me for stating my opinion. You only refered to my argument and told me to shut up, how does THAT put anything valid on the table?

And why is it so hard for you to understand that I can like both games?

  • @Gogito4 I'm not telling you to shut up. I'm telling anyone who shits this video's page up with a lame neckbeard argument about Kingdom Hearts specifics to shut up. Go ahead and like both games, but this page is about Nier.

  • @chickmcjr You're in the wrong place to even discuss Kingdom Hearts. This is a Nier discussion.

  • @Gogito4 both games have kind of the same idea. but both are awesome <:-D

  • The worst part is that they truly believed they were doing the right thing, and were completely unaware of who they were hurting until it was too late to turn back...

  • Glad to see no one press dislike button

  • best music this soundtrack and this generation aside Lost Odissey

  • @fredicesar Agreed. LO had a very good ST.

  • Beautiful

  • Wasn't that the battle music?

  • @Shadow1of1None Yeah I think so.

  • Any chance you'll just... go back to the village?

  • @bangsmccoy12 I remember the death shriek after the first sister went down. My dog was sitting next to me at the time and he went ape shit.

  • @bangsmccoy12 lol what happens if you say yes btw?

    DO you actually go back?

  • @goth11223 Weiss says something like 'We can't turn back now' and then you go ahead with the fight anyways. At least thats what i recall..

  • @goth11223 Yes, you do. Nothing really changes at all. It's actually kind of awkward, since you talk to Devola and Popola in the village like nothing happened, if I remember right.

  • this soundtrack makes me cry sometimes :'(

  • @GarlandFraser

    I wouldn't quite call it sad O.o

it actually makes me kinda happy, lovely song ^^

  • @ThePilchart If you'd play the game you'd realize that you're killing your best friends to this song.

  • @GarlandFraser just so you know, I've played the game. and i don't care if you have to kill devola and popola to this song, it stays a good song and it makes me happy, would make me sad if you had to kill kainé to this song tho ...

  • @ThePilchart This song really is brilliant. I love how they've kept the same melody from the village and have both twins singing. It's familiar and upsetting to lose two friends to this music.

  • @ThePilchart that wouldn't make sense, if you had to kill Kaine, then it would play the Kaine escape song.

Besides, you obviously haven't completed all the side quests that made you grow more attached to Devola and Popola

  • @ThePilchart ugh, this was a psychological fight far easier on mute. I actually lost this part twice b/c of what the song implanted in my mind earlier in the game. Its like my fingers weren't getting the message to move. Its been a while since a game had done such to me. The previous one being Tales of symphonia where you've gotta fight kratos(not the ending he joins your party) I was like "what..but...no..." v.v

  • beautiful!

  • AWSOME SOUNDTRACK!!!!!!!
