So, Ronnie and Marriot did get together to form Majic Mijits, damn, I'll have to read the bios again to find out why it didn't continue on if not to reform Small Faces.
@Khultan According to Steve, Keith Richards paid for Ronnie to go to an MS center in Florida in 1981. Steve went to stay with Ronnie and help him out. They were keen to give it a re-try, so the Majic Mijits project was born. Even though Ronnie couldn't play lines, he would verbally explain them. They went back home, recorded in Ron's mobile, but weren't able to do any promotion because it was too difficult carrying him around. Ron for his part claimed Steve stole money earmarked for the project.
@gropingwithastoker Thanks for the information. I have a couple of books on the Small Faces, including one by Ian 'Mac' McLagan, himself. I'm trying to get Quite Naturally. It still saddens me that Ronnie, all because of what his mother has suffered from he inherited, as well. Damnit. : (
I downloaded the Majik Mijits album from Amazon after watching this videa, but I'm having a bit of trouble reconciling the chronology. The album was supposedly recorded in 1980, and Ronnie sadly passed away in 1997, but the song "Son of Stanley Lane" appears to mention Facebook on more than one occasion. And Facebook, as we all know, didn't appear until 2004. Am I mishearing the lyrics?
ex stuff.i recall seeing marriot and the small faces?? on top of"burtons"mare street hackney 1964/65? with i think jimmy winstone on keys?..defo plonk and kenny.. a wall of marshalls.!!!f-----cn blowing big time..maybe called the muleskinners not sure but that name comes to mind..and i think 7/6 to get in!!!
@shaneshaky1 I saw AL & Love live in the late 60's. Think it was the Hollywood Palladium. While I liked them a lot, they only had a few that hit the top 40 -Orange Sky, Hey Joe and maybe Red Telephone. Do yourself a favor, if you haven't, really check out the Small Faces. "Itchycoo Park", "Lazy Sunday", "All or Nothing", "Tin Soldier", and their concept album Ogdens' Nut Gone Flake. Doubt you'll regret the effort.
I find it dangerous to listen to this song as I can never get it out of my head for days. RIP little mijits Ronnie and Stevie. Thanks to youtube, you and the SFs will never lack for fans, young and old.
Oh yeah. Good idea. Sounds perfect. I bet there's one somewhere. Google maps where are ya. Hahaha. Got the right thumbs on this one my friend. I'm Andy, from Liverpool.
thanks for the validation merseymain, it sounded good to me, I could never afford to buy a street, well maybe on an icecap in the far north of B.C., a nice tree lined street is what's needed. The lads deserve it.
Oh so much so, yeah. I've just given ya thumbs down instead of up! Apologies. I'm on my phone and will sort it on laptop later. It won't let me amend it on phone
Cool. Thanks for posting. Such a shame they couldn't get something going then. Nothing against Humble Pie, but Steve made a huge mistake leaving the SF's. Ronnie and Steve made a brilliant team and they could have been as well remembered by the masses as Lennon/McCartney or Strummer/Jones.
In my dreams i live in Marriott lane... Last house on the left...you can't miss it !

They truly were Majik Mijits. In fact, all four of the Small Faces were.

Never new they did this album. Guess Ronnie was in a wheelchair when recorded in the 80s. Wish I could find the other songs - two albums?

Strummer/Jones??? I think you will find to many they are remembered more greatly than Strummer and Jones!!!
