Well the title of this movie is "the soverign servants" and its 100% historically inaccurate. The russians want to make it look like the Swedes were the "monsters" when in fact Russia declared war on small Sweden and was also a lot greater in numbers.

You can not compare Sweden with Britain during the 1600s. Britain was a global superpower, while Sweden was a regional power. Sweden had a small population compared to the UK and therefore could not be bigger than they were. What is fascinating is that Sweden stood alone several times in the war against his three archenemies Denmark, Poland and Russia, it shows that Sweden had a well-trained and modern army for its time! specially at the end out of the 1600!

Besides France and England has both the same advantage, larger & equal populations. Someone should really make a movie about the battle of narva. The greatest battleachievement of the swedes. Think its funny how the swedes are displayed to burn down the russian houses here. Karl XII did everything in his power to keep Sweden's borders like during his fathers rule. Against impossible odds he had great success, his only mistake was to linger in Poland for such a long time without pressing on a weakened Russia.

Well, obviously in hindsight it looks like a bad decision. Karl XII was a gambler, a proud one at that, he gambled high and lost, and most swedes still consider him a hero just for his efforts. Just consider how he would appear if he had actually won. I think it was inevitable that Russia would gain a port in the Baltic Sea though, which was what Peter I wanted and Karl XII wanted to stop. Sweden was very hated by its neighbours, and had noone to help, that was the main mistake.

Well, obviously in hindsight it looks like a bad decision. Karl XII was a gambler, a proud one at that, he gambled high and lost, and most swedes still consider him a hero just for his efforts. Just consider how he would appear if he had actually won. I think it was inevitable that Russia would gain a port in the Baltic Sea though, which was what Peter I wanted and Karl XII wanted to stop. Sweden was very hated by its neighbours, and had noone to help, that was the main mistake.
