  • Is it possible to do this with a 1015bx? I opened up the panel on the back and there was no ram, or the ram holder.

  • After that I opened the netbooks and put the 2 Gb module in the black one and bought a 4 Gb module for the white one. Still with windows 7 starter. There was no time gain in starting up.The 4 Gb was even 7 seconds slower! Another difference: Windows stated in the 4 Gb netbook that 2 Gb were available, but 1,61 available in the 2 Gb netbook. Rather weired difference. I understand the video mem takes a part of the regular mem, but with 4 Gb in starter there's apparently more available.

  • Right! I got 2 of them. One for my girlfriend and one for my daughter. I had the first one (a white one) upgraded at the seller's with a 2 Gb mem module. Later on I bought a black one for my daughter with standard 1 Gb module.

I then was able to test both mem situations. I first tested the white one with 2 Gb and the black one with 1 Gb. Both with windows starter. The white one started in 1 min 5 secs. The black one in 1 minute 24 secs. Quite a difference!

  • UPDATE!

After upgrading from the standard 1 to 2GB RAM, the performance of the Asus Eee PC 1015B has improved significantly! The Windows Experience Index shows an improvement of memory from 3.9 to 4.6. This upgrade is highly recommendable for this computer!

  • If your planning to upgrade your Asus Eee PC 1015B from the standard 1GB to 2GB RAM, use these RAM specifications when searching RAM:

    Model: SO DIMM 204-pin

    Type: PC3-8500

    Memory frequency: 1066 MHz

    Memory technology: DDR3 SDRAM

Asus Eee PC 1015B comes with Win7 Starter 32-bit which only supports up to 2GB RAM. The AMD Fusion C-50 1GHz does support up to 4GB RAM, but only if you upgrade the OS to a 64-bit system. But as fare as I know there's no increase in performance between 2GB and 4GB..

  • i thought that on pc which have inteegrated graphics upgrading ram is impossible

  • @Pikachu8119 Not impossible.

I have this laptop and have upgraded to 4 GB RAM after installing Windows 7 Ultimate.

    RAM I used is CMSO4GX3M1A1333C9

  • @TheRuggle can i do the same on 1015pn??

or only 1015b can use 4gb ram?

i thought it's impissible, cuz i have laptop with integrated graphics

  • Why didnt you mention taht you have to disable the Boot Booster in BIOS?

Also, i dont have Boot Booster. Does that mean that i cant upgrade my ram?

  • can i upgrade up to 6gb of ram?

  • Thanks
