i love this track. this is very nice. Thanks for posting this song. Please if you have this track by I.K Dairo - i don't know the title but the song goes like this in yoruba - Ise aje male ore mi ko mura o, Ma f'owuro sere tori ale re o. thanks
Grand! Merveilleux, Beau. Bravo!
1 - Marcelo e Voninho
2 - Tio Mederico- Dvd Os Serranos 40 anos- Sempre Gaúchos
3 - CHANGO SPASIUK EN FORMOSA KILOMETRO 11 -10/10/2009 (4)
IK dairo was the music in town long before Ebenezer or Adeniyi. His bonfo was not just about travelling but a king of lade's mini dress today. Wonderful. And the onile gogoro type of head tie. Thank you Planetolusola for bringing us this reminiscence.
I.K.Dairo was a legend of Africa. He lived a good life around Aborishade street, Lawanson,S/Lere. No one passes by without acknowledging that the KING of JUJU MUSIC lives there. Everybody loves him. May he rest-in-peace!!!.
@tonyajayi: You are right. I used to pass by his house, and his small church not far from it, in 1982. I also saw him inside the First Bank location in the same area where he used to carry out his transactions. Even now I always marvel at how truly significant people often tend to be so thoroughly ordinary and self-effacing: I.K.Dairo was talking to a bank staff almost like a man with no name in the street! Of course the banker must have known who he was! I.K. remains a gift to our music, I say!
What a master piece from IK Dairo the consumate juju maestro.A pacesetter whose mastery of his trade brought world wide recognition to his brand of music. He was not only a musician but also a true African.IK stood heads and shoulders above his contemporaries no wonder he was awaded MBE .Salome is just one of his many successful music. He was Gods gift to the juju music industry.
Just whao! How do you compare this music to so call present day noises. Just a masterpiece of accordion, talking drums and first class raps. Thanks to whoever posted this. You made my day. This is my grandma's favourite music and God bless her soul. Whao.
Memory of my parents, uncles and aunties on christmas day and new year's day is something that I cherish whenever I hear all the good oldies. God bless planetolusola
Dairo's is not just his musical talent. His eclectic work in the Aladura movement makes him an intellectual giant. If Dairo was 'Eurowhite', many research students would study him and many a Ph.D would be written around his work. Dairo was one of the few Africans who saw through the deception/indoctrination of 'Eurowhite' Christianity as it was sold to the colonised Africa. Alas, when his generation finally goes, we will all be left with mediocrity and cheap immitation of burger music culture.
I love all IK Dairo's music of blessed memory,The composition of his song coupled with natural Africa percussion is inevitable to life.May his gentle soul rest in peace.CPT DUNGA
Thanks so MUCH for what u guys are doing. I just would like to say it's very important we keep our TALENTS alive...WE MUSTN'T LET THESE TALENTS TO GO UNDERGROUND. He's saying: O di pe ki, O di pe ki, t'owo t'omo pade mil'ona o di pe ki. Emi o ni si nibe emi o ni si nibe. Nibi won gbe sori buruku, mio ni si nibe. Iyawo sumo oko die die to ba njo. Keregbe to mbe laya e, a jagun ba ni. Ee raiye l'ode o ee raiye l'ode, Ee raiye l'ode o ee raiye l'ode. Eni ti o sumo l'apata n'jedo eran, Ee raiye lode. Wa jo, wa jo, oyinbo wa jo Ashiko.
this song reminds me of the first time i went to lagos, despite not understanding what song's all about, i remember dancing seriously to it. i love the accordion mostly. Omo sa sa.........
awesome i love the ashiko and djembe drums and i love me some cajun and zydeco accorion along with african music and everthing else, music is my addiction !!! cool vid, keep posting
The "Salome" version of 1992 was just a re-made, watered-down version of the original, waxed in the early sixties, anywhere between '62 and '67. The original is a much better and tighter version, naturally.
Thanks planetolusola, this reminds me of my grandparents. Thank you soooo much for this wonderful song
