and respect cameron tabor. hes the thrower youll never be. you improved 14 feet, but thats not typical for most people. his technique is in check, has been since he was a freshman, thats why there wasnt a huge increase. if u hit 65 next year then fine. but dont compare yourself to him until u throw discus 200 feet and are featured in every track magazine in america. u go to the czech republic to throw with the best in the world then talk. hell be the best thrower in the country next year not you
i only put amazing in the title of my videos to try and get more views, not cause im trying to be cocky. and i know 14 feet isnt typical, but im just saying i would expect someone to improve more than he did from his sophomore year to his junior year, but dont get me wrong, i have a lot of respect for cameron, hes a great thrower in both shot and discus. And i plan on throwing quite a bit farther than 65 next year, if i only improved 3 feet i would be ashamed with myself.
decent throws but you dont need to put "amazing" freshman or "amazing" sophomore in front of every single one of your videos. on another note, your 62 on a sophomore is great, but this isnt. im sure everyone believes youre a freshman in this video. this isnt an "amazing" series. i'm gonna be a sophomore this year and i threw 51 as a freshman, now this summer i've thrown over 55 consistently and hit a 58 and im not striving for attention. i dont mean to be a dick but you come off very cocky
HAHAH the national freshman record is like 63 ft. In oklahoma there's a freshman that threw 59 ft, this year he's a sophmore and has thrown 63'9 his name is Cameron Tabor. The top in the nation is jimmie pacifico with a throw of over 71 ft
tabor might have thrown 59 his freshman year, but if he only improved 4 feet, thats not very impressive, and i dont think he threw any farther than that this year either. If you throw 59 your freshman year you should be in the upper 60s your sophomore year. i went from 48 last year to 62 this year, so thats sad he couldnt improve any more than that
Going from 48 to 62 is not normal. However if that's you in the vid you prolly only threw the high school shot around 51 ft.I personally threw the college shot 47 ft last year as a freshmen and that's with an injury right before the end of the season, I prolly woulda went 48. I was PRing every meet. I throw for Dartmouth college if you want proof.(Same school Adam Nelson went to, I have the same coach as him also) Anyways this year Nick Vena went 67'10 his freshmen year which is more impressive.
Of course high school distance isn't always the best indicator college distance, so I might be wrong. I threw 51'8 my junior year in high school then tore my ACL so I didn't throw much senior year. I also started this college year out only throwing 40'8 and finished at 46'6, with throws in the 47's in practice. The injury prevented me from reaching 48 which I'm gettin close to now during summer training. Anyways keep improving, my fault for posting that stupid comment a year ago. Later
In other words, despite the increase of weight I'll prolly throw the college implement way further than I ever threw the high school implement. Anyways good luck, there's some serious monsters out there, a few near 60 as freshmen during their college freshmen year.
Well when you have had as many football injuries as I have its harder to throw farther (Torn tendons in my right hand, torn ACL, small tear in in the other ACL, Hyper-extended right elbow, hyper- extended back) which is why I didnt play football this year.
I didnt PR by very far last year but I did become way more consistant around 63 and 64 last year i had 20 something throws over 63and like 5 over 64 compared I do need to work on get my throws from training into meets your right about that
I dont know why people have to be fucking dicks on this site... good for this guy, as long as he is proud with his performance nothing else matters. fuck the rest of you.
people lie about how far they threw so much. people saying they threw 49 and 55 their freshman year. i dont believe you. adam nelson said that he threw 60 his senior year. thats what he said and hes a 2 time silver medalist in the olympics. if you guys are throwing high 40s low 50s in you freshman year why are you guys not signed with a d1 school. people seriously stop lieing!
thats because nelson developed in college, alot of ppl throw 60ft in the US but not many persue it after high school, also u cant sign with s D! school if ur a sophmore, second, even if you throw 60ft, there ppl throw 70ft, and the kids who do throw 60 are getting partials
maybe the kid had a 6 foot PR that day, that is pretty amazing. Distance has really nothing to do with how amazing someone is. If you are hitting 55 as a freshman I sure hope you made your all-america by senior year otherwise you are not amazing at all. lol
hell ya. the thing that made me the most proud of myself wasnt that i threw 51 my senior year. it was that i threw 30 my freshman year. a 21 foot increase from freshman to senior. not many people increase more than 10-15 feet from freshman to senior
amazing? no...
goofy? perhaps...

jmm121884 4 years ago
I've seen freshman throw in the 50's, that's impressive. This is probably a little above average for a freshman, and he needs a haircut.
