  • Paul/ Napolitano!!!!2012!!!!

  • Goodness. He's too good to be true. Even if he were to be elected, his core ideals would likely be stalled or stopped cold by the senate and/or congress. The difference between our current state of government and Ron Paul's proposed state of government is simply too vast for such to be a reality within eight years.

  • COME ON GUYS AND GALS .. LETS GET THIS GUY IN !!!

  • I just can't stand Stossel's submissive, apologetic manner and whiny, irritating voice.

  • Plus if those houses likely to be flooded more, will lead to more pollutant-ance of our natural water resources, and our seas! C'mon, environmentalists, get behind, no FEMA

  • @jakobeckert

If they're more likely to be flooded then insurance will cost more, and people will be less likely to build there.

Insurance will be responsible for cleaning up any pollution as well.

  • @postalmeter Yes and then people won't live in places, that are irresponsible to live... aka like in New Orleans, they made under the sea level land, protected by levis, made affordable to ppl who ordinarily couldn't live in the area, and propped it up, but when disaster hit, those very ppl get hit the HArdest, and there property is now zilch and all there cleaners, and batteries are eaten up by the sea, when the land behind levis shouldn't be subsidized in the first place.. aka FEMA insured

  • @jakobeckert

That's what happens -- i.e. when results are shared for private choice, it soon becomes PUBLIC choice: you can't have individual freedom, without individual RESPONSIBILTY.

But "benevolent dictators" promise just that-- and idiots VOTE for them..

  • This interview wasn't aired? Why? Does Stossel say why?

  • @jonnyy40

Oh, I think we know why-- it's as easy as ABC!!!

  • "Truth is simple"

  • look at Stossel's face at 3:18, love is in the air, nice!

  • Ron Paul for President!!!2012!!!

  • IIRC, the US government subsidizes corn production to the point of overproduction, making corn products have low prices compared to many others. This means that high fructose corn syrup is very cheap, which means Americans get fat.

  • @DoctorChainsaw

When you subsidize ANYTHING then you get too much of it-- it's such a simple premise that only a politician wouldn't see it.

  • How the Hell did you stupid b#st#rds not elect him.

  • @jonnyy40 For the same reason we made professional wrestling a multibillion dollar industry. Low IQ, poor education and lots of misdirected animosity

  • @ritter89

IQ's dropped 40 points when Obama won... or vice-versa, same difference.

  • @jonnyy40 Because "we" are lied to by our media. Don't worry friend, more and more people are waking up here. You can support Dr. Paul wether you are a citizen of the country or not. Sign petitions and subscribe to his channel. Get the word out to as many as possible! If he is elected, his policies will make the whole WORLD a better place and also pave a path for other brave men to finally step up and put an end to big banks running our lives! God bless.

  • @delanogaston

The media is CONTROLLED by those who own it-- simple as that.

They preach their strawman politics and pander to the prejudices of the public... the first victim of war is truth, but that doesn't mean peace is any better.

  • Oh god, he makes so much sense that's incredible.

  • Wow ! That's all I have to say after watching the whole interview. Wow. Ron Paul...the best thing America will never vote for.

  • One strange thing about this interview is there apparently is nothing at all about monetary policy and the federal reserve, which is what Paul is most involved in and urgent about.

  • @dennis345 : They probably edited that part out for their own reasons, because I'm full sure Paul would have spoken about about those subjects in detail.

  • truth is simple

  • Ron Paul was RIGHT...and I was WRONG! Thank you for shining the light of Freedom and Liberty on a nation in ignorant darkness.

  • This guy is my hero... I hope he runs again... I'll do everything that's constitutionally within my power to get him elected.

  • all i can say is "WHO'S YO DADDAY!!!"

  • Most of these departments in government are nothing more than a money supply for special interests.Big government is nothing more than a con game to steal from the people.

Ron Paul is a man full of integrity and honor.

  • Ron Paul is so wise. I really wish he was president. 2012 Ron Paul

  • Amen Amen Amen

  • Did you know Ron Paul's son is running for US Senate in Kentucky? He actually ahead in the latest poll, and his next moneybomb is December 16th.

    pledge now at w w w . randsteaparty . c o m

  • I wish we get a president like him. Will he be able to run the next time? Will he have time?

  • Good news is his son Rand Paul is running for Senate in Kentucky and is ahead of Trey Greason currently 35% to 33%. Americans are finally starting to get the message. Rand Paul 2010 and Ron Paul 2012.

  • The United States, the only country to have used nuclear weapons against a defeated people, has not authority to tell who can and cannot have nukes. Maybe Israel should have its weapons banned.

  • ya they did use it and how many people died that night? about 100 000 people died and that was an atom bomb. nukes are 100X times worse. Israel should lose there nukes just like the states should and Russia and anybody else who has it forever. it should be a world banned

  • Actually, an atomic bomb is a type of nuclear bomb. And, actually, America can't go on speading itself thin. It would be great if we could intervene in every part of the world when a crisis arises, but that's not practical, and it's certainly not in the interest of a nation that is currently bankrupt. We have to be realistic.

  • then tell obama not to get rid of long range missile defense

  • Great logic, lets get in their business and piss them off so when they do develop nukes we will be their first target. Yeah lets do just that!!

  • my favorite point is one we all should have realized in california, but so many people are just ignorant. marriage was a religious function long before it was a function of the state, and ever since it became one.. prop 8 was a disaster waiting to happen. now we have an arbitrary morality that says gays shouldnt be allowed to marry. it should have been a religious morality saying gays should not be allowed to marry, in which case it wouldnt matter anyway cause thered be no state benefits

  • ron paul=Freedom

  • John Stossel agrees with Dr. Paul and it is so funny watching John ask questions that he himself has to bite his lip to keep from laughing at it! Watch him when he asks the questions! lol. Go DR. Paul And Rand Paul here in Kentucky!!!

  • He did a great interview by playing devils advocate and avoided being john stewart interviewing the democrat's candidate.

  • At 1:44 you can see him physically trying not to laugh after he asks whether we need farm subsidies. :)

  • government leave us alone!

  • ron paul ,the only presidential cndidate that i ever supported. I hope he runs again in 2012

  • its not about the messenger, its the message. Hes son is running for senate in Kentucky, and i think theres a libertarian repbulican in South Carolin, not exactly like Ron, but not like Mccain or obam

  • DR. RON PAUL 2012 THE REVOLUTION

  • Oh, come on! Young people don't know the U.S. Constitution other than the 1st Amendment. They probably don't know that the U.S. Constitution has Articles as well as Amendments. Other than the 1st or 2nd or 4th or 5th Amendments (and even their understanding comes from Law & Order or CSI), I doubt that the average young person could name another U.S. Constitutional freedom that they have.

  • True.

  • 3rd - No Quartering for troops

  • He did not say about the young people has a depth understanding of the US Constitution like him. He was saying that the young people has an interest of politics since he got into office because of his stance of the US Constitution of freedom, peace and prosperity through the use of tecnology(internet). Ron Paul inspired me to know what is personal liberty, free-markets, an alike. Believe me I did not read the entire US Constitution, but through him I learned about politics, economics, and so on!

  • This man is amazing.

  • The Declaration/Constitution John's holding is one from the Cato institute. How appropriate. I have one right in my jacket pocket, in case I need to educate a cop.

  • That makes you a terrorist. I read the report.

  • Oh shit, you're right! I voted libertarian, so i must be an extra super terrorist too!

  • Yep. Should've done like me. I didn't bother voting in the Presidential race. I put "Tax Protester" as my job description on my 1040, though, so I guess I'm still on the list. See you in detention! :)

  • Well, i voted, because i want to be eligible for jury duty. I pray that people like yourself just quit paying in. Good for you. And when they cut your electricity, just remind them of article one section 9.

  • Didn't say I didn't vote, just that I didn't vote for President. :) I'll try to remember to mention that, but I'll probably be too busy reloading.

  • reloading?

  • When they come for me, I'll be shooting back. Eventually, that means reloading. :)

  • well, remember not to leave magazines loaded too long, or you'll wear out the springs.

  • Logic? We don't need no stinkin logic.

It's amazing how much people push back on me when I talk to them about ron paul. Reliance on the government is built in to our country. Such a bummer.

  • How is it possible that this guy didn't get further in the election. Guess it's an example of how stupid the American public has become. Enjoy socialism retards!

  • amen

  • It had to do with party nominations... Not the American public... If you check out some of the debates, he wins the majority of the polls when the public is asked their opinion on who won.

I'd appreciate it if you weren't dumb enough to make statements without going over what the policies are. There is a system that is more powerful then the majority and even any one individual. History shows this. So stfu, eat a dick and don't blame the public when it wasn't their fault. Thanks :)

  • rex...exactly.

  • I wish more people would realize how intelligent and sound this man's solutions are. We could be out of our shit hole situation in a couple of decades, maybe less. And then most of our stupid problems would be gone and we could start looking to the stars conquer the rest of this universe.

  • you are so right. Id even think that in 2 terms with good cooperation in washington, implementation of Ron Pauls constitutional interpretations would lead us to the highest level of kickassedness the world has seen.

  • I am Canadian as well, and I concur with you as well Joseph. Ron Paul's philosophy has made me leave the Liberal Party.

  • I am a Canadian citizen, but if I were an American this would be my guy.

  • Ron Paul... I has a man crush! :D

  • so much that i fundamentally disagree with (comparing nuclear USSR to Islamic fundamentalists with nuclear weapons. one is rational, one is religiously motivated to no end or regard for their own lives), but then some that I think is a complete breath of fresh air and common sense (argument people in the desert paying for "insurance" through FEMA)

  • I would contest your assertion that the Soviets were "rational." These were the people who believed that the state should control everything from the economy to the arts and education to people's religious beliefs. Hardly a rational position.

They were also in charge of a huge empire with worldwide ambitions, & 40000 nukes.

The Islamists, though as zealous and hateful of freedom as the Commies, are much weaker in comparison. Pat Buchanan was right to say that they can't even park a bicycle!

  • I understand where you're coming from, as I used to feel the same about the threat of Islamic terrorism. But RP changed my mind about this. Have you watched the part in this interview where he points out that Sri Lanka, with no Muslim population, has the most suicide terrorism?

The reason they are so willing to do it isn't because they place little value on their lives; it's because they perceive that their homes are being occupied.

Take away the perceived offense, and the terrorism ends.

  • To me,Sri Lanka is the exception that proves the rule.Maybe there are some legitimate offenses, but are we willing to meet every single perceived offense?Maybe there are issues in Palestine need to be addressed, but giving into their wishes isn't the answer, and it won't even help,as an org like Al Qaeda will not be satisfied by even the slightest compromise.

Ruskies were rational enough to not destroy the world,I'm not sure an apocalyptic person has the same rationale.

  • How is SL the exception that proves the rule?

It illustrates the exact point that many fail to see: that suicide terrorism is a tactic used by desperate people who aren't necessarily Muslims. And not all angry Muslims use it: think Iran.

And no, I don't think we should cave in to every al-Qaida grievance. But if we pull our troops out of Muslim countries, and take an even-handed approach to the I/P issue, they'll have a lot harder time convincing people that we're a threat.

  • We'll never totally get rid of the people who are implacably hostile to us, but there are much better ways of fighting them than what we're doing now. It's like pouring gasoline on a fire.

We played right into bin Laden's hand by invading Iraq. They are now doing to us exactly what they did to the Soviets in Afghanistan: sapping our money and morale. Do you think the present economic difficulties are unrelated to our war spending? We have to be smarter than the cave-dwellers! Ron Paul is.

  • if you would like to know why you are in Iraq watch "Iraq For Sale - The War Profiteers" ... CASH RULES!!!!!!!!!

  • the arguments of people like yourself are rediculous: another race of people would like to impose their way of life onto us, so we must impose our way of life on them before they get a chance to. That could be used as a definition of hypocracy or double standard! Another example: Muslims in one country killed 3000 of our people so we must kill 1 MILLION muslims in another country to make the world safer. WAKE UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • did i mention iraq here?

  • just watch the film and i know for a fact you will stop thinking American wars exist to defeat terrorists, and they certainly do not exist to make America richer, they exist to make the military industrial complex richer from both sides of any conflict. Haliburton is stealing your childrens and grandchildrens future and you are worried about groups who numbered in the 100's before your war started and they have no military, navy, air force- "IRAQ FOR SALE - THE WAR PROFITEERS" just watch it now!

  • Thanks for posting this.

Dr Paul was really on point.

    Wow.

  • Are we Americans ready to take care of ourselves?..

  • I am.

  • Dr Paul is the only candidate with any integrity or patriotism. The others merely give us platitudes in the hope that we'll be fooled.

  • I have never sent money to a candidate but I have contributed twice to Dr Paul and will probably do it again soon. He might not win the primary but Paul's surprising numbers will get the attention of the man that does win.

  • Notice how the interview goes: Stossel asks questions and doesn't interupt and Paul's answers are timed in seconds, not minutes. How refreshing is that. No wonder ABC doesn't want to air it; Americans may expect this everytime.

  • Ya! Allowing a presidential candidate to fully state their politial views without interuption? What a hack.

  • must be a dope strain youre on commie

  • commie ?

    hahahaha

    hilarious.

  • Ron Paul is the last hope this country has.

This is the United State's last chance to avert the growing tyranny democratically, through the electoral system.

This is it. The maker or the breaker.

    Totalitarianism or Liberty?

  • Talk about NAILING that interview!

    Maybe Paul's best...

  • F...! I'm french, and our politic system is far from the best especially with our actual president... BUT... if I was american... well... RON PAUL sounds great!!!

  • It's so refreshing to hear him speak. He is truly my hero.

I will be donating on the 16th.

  • I'm a grad student working on my PhD in engineering and I really like this Ron Paul guy. Perhaps I'm not the smartest guy, but his message seems to be really solid.

  • "Isn't it amazing? Truth is simple, It doesn't need to be complex"

Well informed individuals can make much better decisions than a government can.

Freedom begins within yourself, it begins from the individual.

Ron Paul is one of the most enlightened person I've listen to speak. He will be remembered for a long time.

  • Ron Paul PWN3S

  • Email 20/20 to put this on TV

  • Out of all 6 segments, this was by far the best.

  • They need to broadcast this. Most Americans don't even have a simple grasp on economics.

  • @whoisronpaul ...and hee explains so well... I actually understood what he was saying!

  • Our IOWA caucus is Jan. 3rd and is quickly approaching. I am in Dubuque, Iowa and hoping that anyone nearby (states even) will drop in on caucus night to cheer on our rally. I'll most likely be speaking as well as my brother for Ron Paul! (Dubuque, Senior High School is the location we'll be at)

  • our government has made it hard to understand our rights because they dont want us to understand our rights

  • Exactly. Why do they even have caucuses? Primaries are much more simple, but if its too simple, the people might actually participate.
