@16beest yeah I agree, first there's no mention of John Curtis, or the son Charlie that Ben and Cindy had. John Boy was with another woman in another special, Jane I think her name was. I liked her a lot better than this one. I wish too that they had explained what happened to Virginia since that was such a major part of the plot.
@hardluckboogie@beckys4672 John Curtis is Mary Ellen's son, not husband. Curt died in war, then Mary Ellen found out that he was actually alive, but was totally different so they divorced officially. Writers apparently just decided to leave John Curtis out..
@LaikVictoria49 FYI ... Mary Ellen did have a son with her husband,Dr.Curtis Willard during the regular show - they named him John-Curtis, after his father and grandfather.
yes, they screwed up on of the dates. And a bigger contradiction came in the third reunion special, the one after this one, which was set in 1969, where John and Olivia were celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary (which would have put their wedding in 1929), but when The Waltons began, it was set somewhere around 1933, and John and Olivia had already been married for 15 or 16 years and had seven children, so they would have been married somewhere around 1917 of 1918.
@mthivier John Walton wears suspenders, like time suspension. The date inconsistencies are done on purpose. At the beginning of this reunion show, John-Boy says people get older but nature stays suspended in time.
Dear Grandma, God love her.

was grandma right in the head? I know her voice was gone but whenever she delivers lines, it seems like her mind was gone too?

@HardyRules2 she'd had a stroke years before, her speech was never the same after that. Plus the actress was easily in her 90's when this was filmed.
