@Samulise Thankyou for your interest. Like I mentioned before I made some improvements to the form work prior to running concrete. Firstly I found my base bowed a bit under the weight of the concrete so I have made a concrete base as support. Secondly I now use steel formwork so the concrete does not stick to the formwork. The plastic underneath causes ripples to the underside. But overall the finished product was quite good. I mixed very strong cement and it is very hardy.
As I had plastic under, it took about 8 to 10 hours or more. I actually troweled during the night. The troweling actually made the finish product more grey. I have since done more tops using steel as form work which I may upload. And also adding a concrete additive which with the white sand and cement gives a more bright colour.
