Do you mean Stephan Schmidt from Basel? No, there's is no relation between them! Jakob lives in Bavaria near Augsburg.
My name is Stefan Schmidt, too and I'm guitar teacher and his father.

can't figure out which guitars are these.... they seem to be from the same luthier one spruce one cedar? they sound so beautiful inside this hall.

Both guitars are made by the German guitarmaker Nicolaus Wollf!
