@LAKOPUNJABI I theink you are thinking of tubifex worms, or maybe a disease called bloat in malawi cichlids,if you feed them too much protien in thier diet they contract the disease.
yes people brine shrimp are sea monkeys one in the same. I had one question what is your sg gravity in your grow out tank and your temp settings as well as food? Just curious I am growing mine out too they are doing great I want to maximize my yield. running a tetra 6 gal with flourecent light air pump on a low bubble and heater. The tank comes as a kit, I will buy another for Daphnia
this is great...i hatch b.s eggs for my fry but never thought of growing them ....could you tell me how long it takes, what you feed them etc.... thanks
Lol your all prolly going like what the heck are they doing? *background light turns on for the fish tank* oh... that explains why they are swimming near the glass o.o
Because guppies are cheap and easy to breed. You can spend that 10 dollars once and setup a breeding tank for guppies to have an unlimited food supply. Also, since you are in control of your own tank, you know your stock will be disease and parasite free instead of gambling with the stock you can get at your LFS. Why is someone a dumbass for wanting to go this route again? Its always awesome to read comments from the uneducated.
Thanks for your comment. Could you please teach us how to setup a $10 tank for guppies without disease and parasite free? Everyone will appreciate your teaching.
You buy a trio of guppies 1 male and 2 females. And let them swim around in the tank together. You can't help but get fry. The feeders you can buy in fish stores are not kept in very good conditions, but stores keep the "pet" guppies in better conditions. Obviously watch your fish to disease and treat accordingly. After the first generation you have healthy fish. Right now I have about 80 fry I am raising to feed to various fish. If you have a regular tank setup, the fish are cheap.
What do you feed the brine shrimp to make them adult? I'm about to hatch some eggs and want to treat my large angel fish to some! Iv bought adult live from my fish shop before, but it wasn't cheap. cheers!
i just got some brine shrimp eggs and then i made a homemade brine shrimp bottle and then i took a air pump from a tank , and then i fill the bottle up whit warm water and then i put a heating lamp on top of it whit a air pump on the bottom of the bottle then i put aquarium salt and baking soda and then the brine shrimp eggs... its just so i can get rdy if my guppys get any fry.
I want a to breed small fishes that i can use as feeders for my eel and a predator fish that only eat small fishes... What fish do suggest i should breed? i can breed cichlids like jack dempseys and guppys but i want to breed something like tetras but if u know any other fish that i can breed that isnt to hard plz send me a message.
I will suggest you to breed the guppies! Guppies is easy to breed and you can get enought amount to feed your fish. Tetras is hard to breed! If you have other question or want to discuss with me, you can mail me : proe1109@gmail.com
@proe1109 how many guppys do u think i should get?`and how big should the tank be? i know that i will use a sponge filter and i know when to put the female in a breeder box and that they eat their babies if they see them but when i get the fry, should i grow the brine shrimp and feed them the next day or so? and then after 1-2 weeks i go whit crushed flakes for fry's. Sorry for my bad english:/
I think you can start with 3 or 4 pairs guppies. You can just feed them with pellet to save your cost, but feed the new born fry with brine shrimp. After 1-2 weeks, you can feed those fry with pellet or flakes. 3-4 pair guppies would breed many fry which is enough for you to feed your fish after 3-4 month.
@proe1109 u know what... i went to the pet store today and picked up a fat female guppy i think its a wild guppy couse it doesn't have any colour wich i dont want either becouse they are gonna be feeders anyway. I didnt buy a male becouse i thought when the female has a huge stomach and a very big red spot and a little black the male has allready fertilized the female so the female can keep that in its stomach and give birth 3 times or am i wrong? i also bought some brine shrimp eggs info plz.
@proe1109 why the fuck would you breed nice ass fish like fuckin guppies to feed ur fish? buy gold fish to feed bigger fish there only like 3 bucks for 10 of them u dumbass!!!!
First question I'd ask is what sort of eel? is your tank salt or brackish? if it is then maybe look into Mollies.. you can acclimate them to some pretty salty conditions.
good for freshwater Guppies, Platies, Swordtails all bad parents, keep them away from the fry. if your thinking of using young cichlids as a food source I'd say go with convicts you can keep a breeding pair of them in a tank as small as a 29g.. Jacks are a bit more demanding.
Can you help! The pet store got a whole bag of brine shrimp, they are a little less than a centimeter. I bought some and put them in a jar but they died the next day! How do I keep them alive? I am planning on buying a small tank and air pump, and want to raise some for my bettas.
You should throw a airstone into your breed tank of brine shrimp to provide them enough oxygen. Besides, try to feed them with yeast powder or spirulina powder. They need food to grow up.
once the brine shrimp hatch after 24 hrs did you transfer them in a different container ? Did you use the same water that you hatched them from ? Do you use air line while growing them to that size ? If you can let me know withing 24hr that would be nice. I just started a culture and wanted to know how to get them a bit bigger so that i can store them in the freezer. Thanks in advance

I am also trying to grow out brine shrimp. clearly u have had some luck in doing so. can u give me some tips and pointers on how to do so? mine just die off.
Ok so I have 3 questions because I attempted to grow my own brine shrimp from eggs. I managed to keep them for about 2 weeks but than they just disapeared...
1st) Do you use an airstone for the air pump?
2nd)What size container do you keep them in?
3rd)How long did it take for you to grow them to that size?
You can just respond on my channel if you want to.

Gotta say you have the healthiest and most robust looking BS I''ve ever seen!
Thank you so very much for sharing your knowledge with us.
1. How much salinity? I've got success at around 32 ppt or 1.023 but so called experts say can go like 1.034. And do you keep salinity constant thoughout entire livecycle? I've read somewhere if you want females to give birth to live young(not just cyst eggs) they like salinity lowered (mimics good conditions or something). Your thoughts please.
2... Do you attach an airstone? Best success for me has been straight bubbles out of a single hose line. Too much air seems to hurt them...What do you use oh great and powerful and wise Father of Brine Shrimp Master. Hee
