Only idiot politicians make wars that the good military personnel to pay for it with their lives. If Swiss,Sweeds and few others are smart enouh no to make wars , that doesnt mean that they should not a good miltary force to defend themselves in case some one decided to have a go!! I am afraid to say that some wars are justified like helping some oppresed or bullied country or stopping a gencide etc.

The SWISS don't pussy out. There entire military is based on a militia system which promotes defense. The entire country is impossible to invade as literally one in four houses has an assault rifle in it. And the swiss do tons of stuff like peacekeeping which is good.

No. The Swiss Airforce Doesn't use the Eurofighter Typhoons yet, only the Germans, British, Spain & Italy, but still the E.U has defence & uses defence and offensive capabilities in Swiss Airspace.

As a neutral nation which defends its sovereignty more than any nation in its region, Switzerland has not fought in any war in the modern era.....a lack of prolific Swiss fighter aces from the second world war should not be misconstrued as a weak airforce, just a result of not having fought anyone

You can only be an ace if you do shoot someone down.There is no evidence to suggest that under sustained attack the swiss armed forces would not capitulate as easily as say the french .Accordingly until they have actually been in combat their abilities are at best suspect and open to question.

As for switzerlands neutrality that is open to doubt.

The swiss probably have the best defensive military in the world. they are surrounded by mountains..and on top of those mountains are military radars and bases...... no intruder can get in without getting shot.. or detected.jets would be detected easier becuase the radar is awefully close to its height.

If you are ever driving up the Owens Valley in California, and your timing is lucky, you'll see Navy and Marine F-18s at very low altitude. Several low level routes wind up through that area on the way to NAS China Lake ranges. Ingress routes over San Louis Obispo and west to east along the mountains north of L.A. are other good areas.
