  • How durable are the redcats ? I'm thinking of getting one. I'd like get back into this hobby. It's been a long time since and I had alot of fun... P.S. thx for the webpages

  • @ronofontario They are very durable for the price range they are in. HPI's are more expensive but less durable, they do have a lot more aftermarket parts for them though...Just go over the truck before your first drive, check all the bolts and loktite them, especially the head and carb bolts.

  • @evildomain thx for the heads up. I'll make sure I do your advice...

  • go to alishanmao to learn about redcats lol

  • how fast does it go

  • @Reptile211 I clocked it once at 40mph with low gears. I think it could run 50mph easy.

  • 2:52 the ground says fuck you hahahaha

  • @chrisdo911 Yeah it did...

  • that is so gay

  • @ulelog1 Troll?

  • could i make my rampage xt look like this? its a very nice truck u have there

  • @Dirka13 Yes you could totally make it look like mine. Head on over to redcatrampageforum and you'll find plenty of help.

  • what forums do u use? im thinking 1/5 scale now, hpi doesnt seem to be that special from what ive hear when it comes to 1/5th, but not sure, i hear good things about the redcat, king motor alot, the thing about redcat is just its overall reputation, even though it costr half as much as an hpi, 5/600 is still alot of money for me to spend! lol do u recomend the redcat or wait and get something pricier?

  • @Sleepy731

Go on redcatrampageforum(dot)com and you'll get all the info needed for any Redcat purchase. All the 5th scale vehicles break simply because they are so heavy and put a lot of strain on the drive-train. HPI's tend to break more often. Redcats will last a while if you do a few modifications to them right from the start, nothing major. The first thing you should always do is make sure the engine is airtight and all bolts/screws have Lok-Tite before you even run it the first time.

  • dude that looks beast

  • @adventuretimedude123

    Thanks...

  • Do you live in California???

  • @Andy4rc

Yes, I live in Southern CA...

  • It seems to me like the redact 1/5 gas cars could all use new clutches, the stock ones don't seem to grab well

  • @masterhacker1989

They use the same clutch system that many 5th scale truck have. Pretty standard...

  • would this truck be worth buying??? im trying to decide between this or the hpi baja 5B SS

  • @TheMrbigOne1

Depends on what you want. The Baja is faster but has less grip and they break often. The rampage costs less, is more durable, parts are cheaper and you can't beat the 4wheel drive but they are slower due to the extra weight. If you spend a little money on a tuned pipe the performance increase is very noticeable. With the Baja and Rampage you will need new servos right away, don't bother with the stock junk. You'll only regret it later, after they break and you crash...lol

  • Hi mate ive just got a redcat rampage roller and was wondering where you got that shell from and what is the shell off ? also looking into getting the baja hubs on too , is that an easy job to do then ?

    thankyou

    jay

ps your rampage is awesome mate :0)

  • @mixmasterjay100

The body is a Pro-line Desert Rat for the HPI Baja 5B. It fits the Rampage with minor modification. You can find it on Ebay or other online shops. If you get the Baja hubs make sure they are all rears. It's very easy to install them on the Rampage.

  • @evildomain hi mate thankyou very much for that info i appreciate it :0)

  • @mixmasterjay100 No problem, glad I could help..:D

  • @evildomain ive found the shell and its 130 pound lol i don't think i will be buyinmg it any time soon , a little too pricey for me ,maybe one day though mate

  • @evildomain ive found the shell on a uk site and its 130 pound so i don't think i will be buying that quite yet ,a little too pricey for me lol , i will stick o my fibreglass beetle shell for now , when ive finished building it that is :0)

  • nice DSM in the back ground!! and im about to the proud owner of a redcat :)

  • @MRDC2day

    That DSM is my Baby...

I recommend you wait for the new models coming out in February from Redcat. They are a new gas 5th scale buggy and truck plus a 5th scale brushless electric. They look pretty darn good and the price is right...

  • @evildomain i love dsm's maan but i traded mt t-maxx 2.5 for one lol i paid 150 for the t maxx lmao the ddm pipe thats on it cost that alone! lol

  • Your truck rocks! What do i need to do to mount my baja wheels to my redcat rampage? If you dont mind my asking.

  • @Iam29yearsold

It's a pretty easy mod to do. You have to buy four rear hubs from the HPI Baja and then just mount them on the Rampage axles. That's it!...Hope that helps...

  • How fast do these weedwackers go? 50 mph?

  • @clankm

I clocked mine at about 46mph with the lower gear ratio. Higher gears would have it passing 50mph but I don't like the idea of 30lb truck traveling that fast...lol

  • Durability is always going to be an issue with RC trucks/vehicles. If you read the forums than you'll know that the HPI Baja 5B/5T breaks a lot and the parts are quite expensive. I'm a little on the poor side so overall cost is important to me, the Redcat is cheap(price wise) and aside from the crappy servos it has excellent build quality. Just buy good quality servos and you should be good...:)

  • nice truck man...I've been looking into one of those I have a few najas but really want a REDCAT how do you like the durability?

  • Very very Nice Truck..... If you don't mind i like to know were you got your wheels and body? Thanks

  • @islandminisunlimited

The wheels are Pro-line Desperado's with Hostile tires. The Body is also from Pro-Line. The wheels and body were made for the HPI Baja 5T but can be easily modified to fit the Rampage MT/TT.

  • Very very Nice Truck..... If you don't mind i like to know were you got your wheels? Thanks

  • Hey wen driving this car do u go threw disc brakes alot

  • @kirksajerk

No, the brakes last a pretty long time. You do have to adjust them every so often..

  • @evildomain ok good does that go with the baja 5t as well

  • @kirksajerk

I don't have much experience with the 5T to have an opinion about the brakes. I'm sure they are fine. I never read any negative posts about them in any of the forums.

  • Love the "slash"type body on MT!! Im going to try to do the same.Is the cage against the roof of the body? That was my week point with the stock MT body. There was a 2 inch gap so when rolled it gave way!Your set up looks tight & strong!

  • @acewelderman

The body sits pretty close to the cage because I lowered the mounting posts. I also didn't like the big gap plus it hides the chassis better and stops debris from getting inside the truck and causing problems....:)

  • @evildomain Thank you .Your set up looks great! I am a tig welder so Im going to custom make my own pipe also.Maybe some real alum tubes added in to the cage to.Angle iron on the bottom too. What size angle did u use? Again Im totaly impressed!! Thanks for sharing it!

  • Great vid< beautiful truck/the body suits it

  • @Tankgirl1965

The body is a little beat up now but still holding up well....Pro-Line rocks!!!

  • Which editing software do you use?

  • @nitromad48

I mostly use Sony Vegas Pro.

  • so is it a mt or tt?

  • @mxf7010g8k

    It is an MT.

  • what body is that? And how was it mounted?

  • @letterpool

The body is a Proline Desert Rat made for the Baja 5B. It mounted pretty easily but I did have to trim a little around the wheel wells.

  • very cool truck

  • Thank you
