Americas 'development aid' has been in the form of military aid (remember the 'made in america' weapons) b/c they see foreign policy with egypt mainly as a national security issue, that's why they propped mubarak for 30 yrs, b/c interest was in stability over civil liberties. The American people may want liberty for the Egyptions, but not the govts over the yrs. So saying Egypt needs to "pay back" the US is a little strange, perhaps its the US that may need to pay back the Egyptions ....

It's sad that some people either don't understand the importance of what's happened, or instead are intentionally flinging whatever they can find and hoping something sticks to the wall. The Egyptian people did not get billions in aid from the U.S., the Egyptian government, the dictator Mubarak, did. It's hard to fathom how anyone can think that this desperate attempt at discrediting a major world event that is powered by common people will even resonate with their base audience.

Early on in the campaign to stop the Iraq Attack, many American liberals from all ages and races and classes were organizing in this very way. Somewhere between being "nutjobs" and focus groups" we lost our momentum. But I can see the pendulum swinging back, I can see the sun coming up once again, not just in the Arab World but in every part of the world, and perhaps most importantly (influence-wise) the Western World.
