I have a 1974 Super Bettle and i took the fuel filter line off of the fuel pump as well as the other hose that is connected to it and i cannot remember which hose went to the top of the fuel pump and which one went to the bottom. Can Any body help me!! it would be greatly appreciated.
Nice bug...I also named mine Betty, ( Black Betty ) The engine is not as nice as yours but still fun to drive. Check it out and let me know what you think!
hi and thanks. ye its a 1972 1200cc model. i have changed the front + rear aprons to accept the earlier style bonnet and lid. i have also fitted the pre 67 sloping headlight style front fenders. however the rear fenders are the origional style as it was origionaly a 1200cc model which came with the older style lights (rather than the tombstone style of that era). the 1200cc engine had been replaced with a 1600cc engine when i bought the car. keep on bugin!
hi, i origionaly used a pertronix coil with an empi ignition sytem but the coil fried it after a few weeks. i later fitted a ignitor and the difference was noticeable. as for fuel i can not help you as i hardly ran the bug before i installed the pertronix set up. what i will say tho is that i would also buy some after market leads as standard leads wont give you the full potential. i am running taylor 8mm silicone ht leads. the whole kit is running realy well. i hope this has helped n good look.

I just got pertronix ignitor and coil for my 72 bug. How are yours working now? How long they been in? Any probs? Better fuel economy?
