Hey man, love this video, I am on the Irish national archery squad, Olympics is my dream, I fully intend to get there! Love that book, you clearly forgot the line, ".... if this premise is lack, then all talk about it is so much empty chatter" if you can remember what he was talking about in that line, then you have it figured out!
Sudden and unwelcome realizations really put the world in perspective. Sometimes that perspective is a complete and utter shit hole... but such is life. We do what we can.
You seem to hit the bullseye with every one of your videos, so, in an obscure, faintly metaphorical way, you kind of ARE an Olympic Archer... or something like that... :-)
"The failure to hold impeachment hearings on what seems extremely solid grounds...amounts to complicity by Congress in this abrogation of the Constitution. Moreover we're seen as an outlaw state by the international community for ignoring international law on torture and on aggression. The attack on Iraq without authorization by the U.N. Security Council... means that we have committed and are in the process of committing a crime against the peace in the Nuremburg sense..."
Panders to an adolescent apprehension of "solipsism"--itself in origin Jesuitical by the way, though even Russell, by way of Descartes, et al., fell for it.
Nice to see you back. Now if my fingers will cooperate with me and not take over with their talent of dyslexic spelling I will be fine. YOU ARE GREAT.
You should just get your Cassius Dice Clay Black Leather Jacket, and smoke them Voo Doo Cancerous Cigarettes and then maybe you can get a cross bowl and make a real silhouette hog......
Zen can't replace training. It can only supplement it.
The samurai knew this and that's why more hours were spent perfecting their horsemanship, spear fighting, sword fighting, archery, and grappling than in meditation. Despite the advantages given them by said meditation.
Next time try Sun Tzu and the Art of War. Maybe if more leaders read that, there'd be less war, and the ones that did happen would be shorter. Of course, they would be shorter still if exactly half read that stuff. ;)
archery is cool. i am far from a professional, but i find better results by staring at the target and then smoothly draw your arrow and fire. but that is just me.
I'm sorry for the failed Olympic stint, Davis. I know how it feels to try so hard at something and not get what I want, even if it isn't at the Olympic level. But, it is great to have you back, and it's great to see you so refreshed.
Peace in the Middle East, and everywhere else that is directly affected by U.S. foreign and economic policy.
Geez! I think that perhaps you misunderstood what I meant to say in my first comment here. I was suggesting Mr. Fleetwood might want try 10M air rifle as an alternate to archery as his Olympic dream. It is a medal sport that older competitors have historically done well in. If he were to seriously pursue this as a goal he might be ready for the 2012 games. Or maybe you just felt like randomly flaming someone. Whatever.
if you'd fired at least 43 shots in the right directions at the meet, you would have easily taken first place without the need for a miracle, as death is sufficient and generally acceptable to eliminate ones competitors . . . though you might not have been out of prison in time for The*Games . . .
Shir Robin of Locshley, I thank thee for guarding my kingdom whilsht I'm away. Pleashe try to keep that dreadful Sheriff of Bushingham under control if at all posshible.
Oh well... It looks like the Olympics will have to suffer along with lesser competitors this time around. But there's always next time. You'll have 4 years during which to polish your Zen and revert to the age of 18 again. I'm working on that myself, but the best I've gotten so far is back to 40. Humpff!!
are you kidding me? first comment! My son is making a bamboo longbow, try making your own bow, it won't get you into the olympics but it is pretty zen.
yay! thx for coming back! Perhaps in 4 more years you can try again with the archery. At least you beat 2 others? Maybe if the van with our olympic archers gets lost on its way to the olympics, they will call upon your zen to save us.
Instead of meditating, you should have cut one of those setions a few hours short to catch Robin Hood Men in Tights. No, I'm just bustin balls. That takes a hell of a lot of commitment but this, makin these videos, is what you do......do. Keep em' comin man.
I gave you a rating of 'pretty cool'. Not 'awesome'. I didn't give you 'awesome' because I don't think you're trying hard enough with your childhood dream.
I don't think you should 'realize' that you can't do it. I think you should keep realizing you might not have worked hard enough.
I am not yet convinced I will not be an Olympian, so I completely in awe of your effort. When will I start training? Who knows. The field of sporting fields for which a nearly 40 year-old woman can contend keeps narrowing. Maybe one day I'll be so wise.
Hey, welcome back, was beginning to wonder: what happened to Davis.......did he take the loss that hard.....mmmmmm. Well, I voted for you and for what it's worth, you're still a winner in my book. Even at archery! You made the effort, took a shot at your dream, not many of us do that Davis. Again, welcome back.
...and I'll never ride through Paris in a sports car, with the warm wind in my hair. Oh, well. Getting older sucks sometimes, but whatcha' gonna' do about it? We all still love you.
I voted for you, and I don't even like you. I have new found respect, though, since you can fire a bow better than two people... You probably destroyed those two losers... made 'em weep... hope you do the same to Nance...
Fleetwood...!...You're back...Despite not winning the vid contest I thought Jon Stewart had picked you up anyway...Archery, huh...I was a Junior regional champ many moons ago...good luck at that...Glad to see you back at it...I believe this is your true calling...for what its worth...
I just want you to know how awesome I think you are and how much I enjoy your videos. You're a really interesting person and you have a great gift in your charisma. Don't be bummed out about the archery thing, we all have things in our lives that didn't work out for us.
Yay! I'm happy to see you back. Looking forward to seeing more. Do you have any idea how depressing it was to think you might never post again? Actually, I've been kinda busy myself and haven't been on YouTube much--BUT, I do always look forward to your videos. Welcome back! Oh, and BTW, I love archery--I think I reached a rank of sharpshooter when I was 13--seriously. :)
