  • 2:22 - 2:32 :- No, it's not!!! But hey, it's not the end of the world!! Do you enjoy archery? That's what matters!

  • Hey man, love this video, I am on the Irish national archery squad, Olympics is my dream, I fully intend to get there! Love that book, you clearly forgot the line, ".... if this premise is lack, then all talk about it is so much empty chatter" if you can remember what he was talking about in that line, then you have it figured out!

  • This is a load of rubbish....All talk,no action

  • sounds like you needed more time practicing with your bow, and less time meditating...

  • Sudden and unwelcome realizations really put the world in perspective. Sometimes that perspective is a complete and utter shit hole... but such is life. We do what we can.

  • The fraud is not Fleetwood. The fraud is Trainor.

  • You seem to hit the bullseye with every one of your videos, so, in an obscure, faintly metaphorical way, you kind of ARE an Olympic Archer... or something like that... :-)

  • Fleetwood--I am not hearing "impeachment" enough from your direction.

Think about what not impeaching means.

Including not only attacking Iran but Bush being able to pardon....

  • "The failure to hold impeachment hearings on what seems extremely solid grounds...amounts to complicity by Congress in this abrogation of the Constitution. Moreover we're seen as an outlaw state by the international community for ignoring international law on torture and on aggression. The attack on Iraq without authorization by the U.N. Security Council... means that we have committed and are in the process of committing a crime against the peace in the Nuremburg sense..."

    [Daniel Ellsberg]

  • Herthinks ego in someone else?

    What's ego?

The usual doublebind, seen also in "Don't take it personally".

    Come again?

  • "We're a figment of their imagination

A beautiful dream, it is true

    A figment of their imagination

    Me and you

    And you know it

    Me and you...."

    [Randy Newman]

  • The Matrix sucks a big one.

Panders to an adolescent apprehension of "solipsism"--itself in origin Jesuitical by the way, though even Russell, by way of Descartes, et al., fell for it.

  • Nice to see you back. Now if my fingers will cooperate with me and not take over with their talent of dyslexic spelling I will be fine. YOU ARE GREAT.

  • Your No Cupid!

    God Help Us Fleetwood!

You should just get your Cassius Dice Clay Black Leather Jacket, and smoke them Voo Doo Cancerous Cigarettes and then maybe you can get a cross bowl and make a real silhouette hog......

  • im happy your back...be one with zen

  • I'm chopping wood and carrying water...

  • Man I love zen.

  • When thinking and between

    hit living target straight on,

    then Zen of all mind.

    That is the Greek NOUS.

    That is geometry.

    That the effortless.

    Square word arrow

    flying toward far round hole:

    the CONTINUUM.

  • Arrow shot in air.

    Bowstring hums a lullaby.

    Bull's eye moves on.

    He rhymes dream with team.

Only those with prose poem know.

    A thousand plus one.

    Here is triple babble.

    Today, yesteryear, future.

    Able-minded rouse.

    [copyright EAC April 1,2008]

  • You can have the best of both worlds! Just agitate people via shooting arrows at them.

  • 1) You didn't come in last

    2) You tried. You can never have that regret

    3) Olympics or not, you gained knowledge

    4) You have 4 more years to practice

    5) Fuckin' zen, huh?

  • How about Zen in the art of Major Media????

    shut door... open window????

luv your vids... really missed ya!

  • mean davis i love u lol cheer up lol u still did better then some people :)

  • You'll also never be a Jedi. Deal with that!

  • "And if anyone is threatened by advertising, air pollution, television,

or the police, they should chant SMOKEY THE BEAR'S WAR SPELL: DROWN THEIR BUTTS CRUSH THEIR BUTTS DROWN THEIR BUTTS CRUSH THEIR BUTTS

And SMOKEY THE BEAR will surely appear to put the enemy out

    with his vajra-shovel...."

    [Gary Snyder]

  • Who cares whether you can hit a tiny target with your arrow? Your videos are fantastic. That's where you are good at.

  • Finally

    your back!

  • Glad you are back Davis; I missed you. Hay, what are your thoughts on 2012, any insights? (smile)

  • "Its just a matter of realization."

"It" is closer and more intimate than anything we have ever known.

Politics are of little value in comparison.

    Your choice.

  • Yeah, fucking Zen. As a matter of fact i'm learning a little bit about it myself... well, i'm reading The Dahrma Bums :D, have you read it?

  • *dharma, shit!

  • Route 66 up your ass.

  • "High in the dark, flecks of alfalfa

    Whirling through shingle-cracks of light...."

    [Gary Snyder]

    The old rascal.

  • welcome back, welcome back!

  • Welcome back!

  • I'm sorry you didn't win. I still think you kick ass and am so happy you're back. I heard that book was amazing. Cop wood, carry water!

  • Zen can't replace training. It can only supplement it.

The samurai knew this and that's why more hours were spent perfecting their horsemanship, spear fighting, sword fighting, archery, and grappling than in meditation. Despite the advantages given them by said meditation.

  • Awe...you can still do archery as a hobby dude. You could get really good at it. I voted for you.

  • Ah, ye olde dreame of ye fame and fortune. (:D)

Next time try Sun Tzu and the Art of War. Maybe if more leaders read that, there'd be less war, and the ones that did happen would be shorter. Of course, they would be shorter still if exactly half read that stuff. ;)

  • archery is cool. i am far from a professional, but i find better results by staring at the target and then smoothly draw your arrow and fire. but that is just me.

  • I'm sorry for the failed Olympic stint, Davis. I know how it feels to try so hard at something and not get what I want, even if it isn't at the Olympic level. But, it is great to have you back, and it's great to see you so refreshed.

Peace in the Middle East, and everywhere else that is directly affected by U.S. foreign and economic policy.

  • It is not about the archery, it is about the ZEN! How about "Zen and the art of agitation"!

  • "advanced age" lol

    dont you mean OLD age!

    lol rothf!

  • Ah, is this the problem:

Yamada Shoji, "On the Myth of Zen in the Art: of Archery"

    nanzan-uc(dot)ac(dot)jp/SHUBUNKEN/publications/jjrs/pdf/586(dot)pdf

About Larry the Zen Master again....

  • Oops missed:

    nanzan-u(dot)ac(dot)jp/SHUBUNKEN/publications/jjrs/pdf/586(dot)pdf

Zen in the art of posting comments on youtube obviously has some years to go.

    "It posts"--yes, that's it!

Now if I can only get it to type!

  • There's always 10M air rifle. 2012. Think about it.

  • Feel free to kill yourself come the turn over.

  • Speak for yourself, Kimo Sabe. TWUNK!

    In the dark no less.

The all but the 2 were Japanese.

  • Geez! I think that perhaps you misunderstood what I meant to say in my first comment here. I was suggesting Mr. Fleetwood might want try 10M air rifle as an alternate to archery as his Olympic dream. It is a medal sport that older competitors have historically done well in. If he were to seriously pursue this as a goal he might be ready for the 2012 games. Or maybe you just felt like randomly flaming someone. Whatever.

  • your honesty and energy is refresing, DavisFleetwood.

chopNcarry seems to be a reoccuring theme. very interesting!

Looking forward to your new posts.

  • haha

"(long pause) that's not very good"

  • if you'd fired at least 43 shots in the right directions at the meet, you would have easily taken first place without the need for a miracle, as death is sufficient and generally acceptable to eliminate ones competitors . . . though you might not have been out of prison in time for The*Games . . .

  • There's always curling, my friend. I have a broom I'll let you borrow.

Good to have you back. Sounds like things are going very well - minus the whole Olympic Dream, I mean.

  • Shir Robin of Locshley, I thank thee for guarding my kingdom whilsht I'm away. Pleashe try to keep that dreadful Sheriff of Bushingham under control if at all posshible.

    King Ricshard

  • Oh well... It looks like the Olympics will have to suffer along with lesser competitors this time around. But there's always next time. You'll have 4 years during which to polish your Zen and revert to the age of 18 again. I'm working on that myself, but the best I've gotten so far is back to 40. Humpff!!

    Moosie

  • Eros, they tell me the best match at archery is left to computer algorithms (algoreisms if you choose to be political)

Be alert. Cupid called and he wants to reinvent himself with your gig.

  • are you kidding me? first comment! My son is making a bamboo longbow, try making your own bow, it won't get you into the olympics but it is pretty zen.

  • wtf when i posted this there were 0 comments

  • E McEwen, R.L. Miller, C.A. Bergman, Early Bow Design and Construction (Scientific American, June 1991).

  • yay! thx for coming back! Perhaps in 4 more years you can try again with the archery. At least you beat 2 others? Maybe if the van with our olympic archers gets lost on its way to the olympics, they will call upon your zen to save us.

  • I send you only love

  • Instead of meditating, you should have cut one of those setions a few hours short to catch Robin Hood Men in Tights. No, I'm just bustin balls. That takes a hell of a lot of commitment but this, makin these videos, is what you do......do. Keep em' comin man.

  • fuk the olympics anyway

  • What do you know about motorcycle maintenance?

  • I gave you a rating of 'pretty cool'. Not 'awesome'. I didn't give you 'awesome' because I don't think you're trying hard enough with your childhood dream.

I don't think you should 'realize' that you can't do it. I think you should keep realizing you might not have worked hard enough.

  • Welcome back Davis!

  • you missed yourself?

  • great to have you back! you were gone too long.

  • Welcome back with yer Zen.

I am not yet convinced I will not be an Olympian, so I completely in awe of your effort. When will I start training? Who knows. The field of sporting fields for which a nearly 40 year-old woman can contend keeps narrowing. Maybe one day I'll be so wise.

  • At least you tried - next time - less zen, more shooting...

  • Wonderful desire. A more perfect allegory could not be found.

  • glad to see u makin vids again sry bout the archery thing...but i feel u about something just hittin u like that........man its tough

  • DAVIS! DAVIS! 46th out of 48, JESUS H CHRIST, and there you are telling me "...don't worry about it, put the apple on your head!"

welcome back from zen, i go there every now and zen!

  • Welcome back Davis. I missed you.

  • Hey, welcome back, was beginning to wonder: what happened to Davis.......did he take the loss that hard.....mmmmmm. Well, I voted for you and for what it's worth, you're still a winner in my book. Even at archery! You made the effort, took a shot at your dream, not many of us do that Davis. Again, welcome back.

  • ...and I'll never ride through Paris in a sports car, with the warm wind in my hair. Oh, well. Getting older sucks sometimes, but whatcha' gonna' do about it? We all still love you.

    :)

  • Toupee?

  • Marianne Faithfull

(actually Shel Silverstein wrote the song "The Ballad of Lucy Jordan," but I like Ms Faithfull's version best).

    :P

  • I voted for you, and I don't even like you. I have new found respect, though, since you can fire a bow better than two people... You probably destroyed those two losers... made 'em weep... hope you do the same to Nance...

  • It's more likely that you'll get a superdelegate vote than go to the olympics.

  • Fleetwood...!...You're back...Despite not winning the vid contest I thought Jon Stewart had picked you up anyway...Archery, huh...I was a Junior regional champ many moons ago...good luck at that...Glad to see you back at it...I believe this is your true calling...for what its worth...

  • 44 out of 46? that isn't bad at all. Two people were worse than you. =) 46 of 46 would have been bad. =)

So sorry you didn't win. I voted for you more than once. =)

    Glad you are back btw.

    - Heidi

  • Davis,

I just want you to know how awesome I think you are and how much I enjoy your videos. You're a really interesting person and you have a great gift in your charisma. Don't be bummed out about the archery thing, we all have things in our lives that didn't work out for us.

Peace, love, and kind feelings, friend,

    Matthew

  • Maybe all your agitating kept you from want to "be" the target

Zen encompasses the all, here, now, but Tao is the way. If you are enjoying the journey, then you cannot fail.

If you did not enjoy agitating, you would not do it so well.

    Glad you're back.

  • Glad you're back. Was beginning to wonder if someone did something to you. LOL!

  • YES! THANK YOU FOR THE GRAVEL VIDEO!

  • Ah yes, those "snap" moments. I,too, share in that experience. More often than I find comfortable....

    "snap" ah crap!

  • At least you did something and tried, thats the achievement right there. Welcome back.. and in a big way you got stuff to come back for.

  • Interesting... but alright, good-luck with your movies and shit dude. ^_^

  • Yay! I'm happy to see you back. Looking forward to seeing more. Do you have any idea how depressing it was to think you might never post again? Actually, I've been kinda busy myself and haven't been on YouTube much--BUT, I do always look forward to your videos. Welcome back! Oh, and BTW, I love archery--I think I reached a rank of sharpshooter when I was 13--seriously. :)

  • Hey at least you know there are two archers worse than you! Anyway, the difference between you and most, is that you got off your ass and TRIED.

And if you just knew you weren't gonna make the team, you should have taken your last few arrows and aimed for some Republicans.

    Glad your back.

  • glad to be back.

(as zen puts it; it is not the win or loss that matters)

  • Well Davis, if agitating was an amateur sport then yes, you would be an Olympic champion.

  • It's been along time, cool its good start 44

and yes the truth is hard, it is fucking shocking to see it like that... so we continue wasting our life dying slowly

some time i wanna go out just out of this room and run run searching for something anything and nothing but thin I'm lazy lazy :(

  • Try Curling - you can be old and fat and still be an Olympian - (not that you're old and fat)

  • Well Done

  • Cool that you're back, Davis! Is that the book of Eugen Herrigel in your hands in the intro?

  • "The fish trap exists because of the fish; once you've gotten the fish, you can forget the trap. The rabbit snare exists because of the rabbit; once you have gotten the rabbit, you can forget the snare. Words exist because of meaning; once you have gotten the meaning, you can forget the words. Where can I find a man who has forgotten words so I can have a word with him?"

    [Chuang Tzu tr. Watson]
