I keep hearing people in other videos talking about tinder fungus, but you're the first person to actually explain what it is and how to get it. Thank you.
thats a big pieve of horses hoof! and yeah the part your trying to fluff up is the rust colored layer called amadou. it is also called chaga mushroom by some native americans or so im told. 5/5
Thanks to everyone who has commented on the sound. I have tried everything I can to make it louder and it sounds fine on my computer. I do not know what else I can do.
looks liek we were doing the same thing then i was up in pitlochery collecting horse's hoff and razer strop plus some cramb balls very very handy little mushrooms
great work sean hope you enjoyed your self with sconny in the highlands
I hear him just fine at about 45% system volume. Maybe it's your PC's? I know my laptop isn't as loud as my desktop, especially when I'm running linux. Just a suggestion.

sean, you're videos are so common sense and practical. really great work.

Awesome video, as usual.
Nature provides many useful plants, tools and objects, you just got to know where to look for it, and how to use it.
I wish more people would realise how cool hiking in the woods or just scouting remote outdoor locations can be.

Sean's videos are great. Is it just me or does the sound need work. I can't hear him half the time.

I am trying to sort my sound out. Some people including myself can hear the videos fine but others cannot.

What was the clay rocks actual name?
Also is it the same as a nagura stone?
OutdoorsWisconsin 2 years ago
Unfortunately geology is not my thing. I do have the stones and intend to find out and will then let you know.

The true tinder fungus in the US is a little different.
It's called phellinus igniarius & that is what the amadou (processed trama layer) was made from.
I presume this is the chaga of which you speak.
Thanks for the info :-)

Sean I always learn from your vids....thanks.
One question about your video is why does it have black bars on the sides to make it look squished?
rmojo23 2 years ago
sean great video, but you need to normalise the sound on your video to make it louder.
