  • Nice video. Shame about the dreadful noise until the last 20 seconds.

  • @raistlin295 It was the lesser of two evils....a screaming child or awful music...

  • @CraftyPip Fair enough :) Must have been a hell of a pair of lungs to outstrip a grimsod :)

  • @raistlin295 when it is just some few feet away whilst recording , the microphone picks up every breath...anyway sorry to disappoint you...mind you it would have given a different meaning to screaming past

  • @CraftyPip Nah, not disappointed at all in the video :)

  • @CraftyPip Nah, not disappointed at all in the video :) You'd think after 30 years association I'd be sick of them :)

  • I saw one of the bad-boys lifting off at Valley, it was intense..

  • i saw a photo lately, of a Nimrod parked on a ramp with a bunch of P-3s, parked alongside, and for a 40 year old aircraft, it looked like something off Star Wars compared to them! British post war engineering at its best

  • The de Havilland Comet old aircraft futuristic design The Hawker Siddeley Nimrod, the military derivative of the Comet airliner was always going to be a winner.

  • Incredible last 20 sec !!!!

And what an awesome sound, that's just soooooooo good in my ears, makes me want to see her so much !

  • Lovely aircraft ...had to cut a lot of background due to young child screaming...probably didnt like aircraft noise

  • Awesome last 20 secs , the Rod at full RPM screaming and making noise like all British aircraft can. I will be sad to say goodbye

  • I thought the passes could have been lower, but I suppose there has to be a safe fly zone. It makes you wonder what the full possibilities of this aircraft are.

  • The nimrod isn't going anywhere yet, the new Nimrods MRA 4's will be in service until 2040

  • Well its already been phased out 3 have gone. First MRA4 handed tot he RAF in less than 2 weeks. MR2 drawdown has been started my freind

  • of course the MR2's are going, they have come to the very end of their service lives. but the MR4 will continue on for many many years

  • @tonightwefly wrong!!!

  • @andymorl RIGHT!!!! at the time of writing, 1 year ago.

  • @tonightwefly but u said many years and now just a year on :O lol. Still i think scrapping them is a great waste

  • @andymorl Yes one year ago (before) they were destroyed I said the MRA4's would operate for many years to come (true at the time of the comment) that was before this senseless decision to remove them by this stupid government and replace them with old ex USAF junk, to which I agree with you.

  • @tonightwefly lol ok i was just having a joke. :P but you were wrong. ha ha government cuts cutting something we still need, millions spent already just to be replaced by something similar and no better equipped. where is the logic

  • GREAT aircraft, but that tail just never looked right, but hey, it worked.

  • I must admit it does look out of place.

  • Its hard to believe that this aircraft has been going so long, but if it meets the required standard then why change. It certainly is an distinctive aircraft.

  • the best Nimrod ever , we love nimrod \o/ i love my baby
