Having an Ford Escort MK1 my own in the seventies and recently a full restoration of two Alfa Romeo cars ( a Bertone (75) and.....an Duetto(69). So I know these cars very well.

It's clearly all about the Escort. Although the driver in this vid seems to be a bit of a huckle compared with the Alfa man! Both lush motors though.

There was a very interesting WCT challenge in those years for these cars.

Escort Broadsapeed 1800 set itself as a winning challenger because of a more advanced suspension set up,a lower weight,and an almost equally powerful engine.

If I correctly recall the official Escort

was driven by Fitzpatrick-a real GTAM killer.

However,Alfa GT did mark an era in its GT range,winning with 1300 - 1750 - 2000 engines.
