  • Moombahton is electronic dance music that was created by American dj/producer Dave Nada at a high school homecoming "skipping party" for his younger cousin in Washington, D.C. The specific event that stimulated NADA's development of the Moombahton genre was his slowing the Afrojack remix of the Silvio Ecomo & DJ Chuckie song "Moombah" to 108 beats per minute. Because that tempo nears that of the reggaeton, Nada created the neologism "Moombahton"

  • @KevWillow7 at 8:38 how the hell did you get your vocal to correspond to those notes like that?

  • ok help me out. im confused about the bass. if its set up like dutch house the kicks are gonna hit in the sub bass, and the bass line is pretty much made from the kicks and the toms? cause i hear like constant bass in all the moombahton tracks, do you throw a sub under the kicks?

  • can you make tutorial of the lead vocal inst in the pon da floor song?the one that kinda pitch up and down

  • oochee

  • its pronounced 'moombah-TONE" it doesnt have an E but its a mix of reggeton and the song name moombah (as you said) and and you pronounce reggeton like REGGE-TONE because its spanish and thats just how you pronounce it. Nice tutorial anyways, helped alot!

  • the thing i like about you is that when ever i suddenly started to listen different style, ei Electro --> Dub --> Moombah, your already all over it :)

  • @wawawaWATSON420 its because im a ninja man hahahaa! :) :)

  • I've never heard of this genre before ... But I've been wanting to make a track that's slower for a while now... getting fed up of 128's - this seems perfect! :D ... and fuck everyone saying u say okay too much,.. i like the way u say it ... it's reassuring lol

  • @kevwillow7 do you have any dubstep tutorials? Or will you in the future

  • @OfficialSoundBox He has loads, check out his channel

  • Could you do one of these on "Complextro" please? It would be awesome :)

  • @WolfgangHalldorson ive never heard of complextro... im assuming its some sort of sub genre of electro?

  • @KevWillow7 It is, A lot of fast changing basses mixing in stabs and wobble basses artists like Darth and Vader, Lazy Rich, Ryan Enzed, that sorta stuff check out "Dirtyloud Ft. Sirreal - Needle in Your Arm" that basically explains what it is :)

  • @KevWillow7 i think it may be some sort of transformer...

  • @KevWillow7

its just a dirtier "complex" version of electro pretty much. sampling in different noises from different genres. refer to artists like darth & vader, ftampa, dirtyloud. I would also enjoy a complextro tutorial if the time permits it at some point :)

  • Cause the clap sounds like... eh.. just listen... (listening)... ya kinda makes you want to do the running man...

  • @OfficialSoundBox it does though! ;) ;)

  • @kevwillow7 dude your sweet. first off follow me was a sick song. and these tutorials are really great. very helpful and revealing on how to actually make pro music

    Make A Moombahsoul Tutorial >,> <3

  • Hey, @KevWillow7 I have a question. I just got FL Studio 10, and I hate using the Tracks, do you know how to show the Patterns under the Tracks in the step sequencer? I cannot for the life of me figure ito ut.

  • @SFxMusic its in the options part bro! :) there called legacy blocks

  • @KevWillow7 couldn't find the ''legacy blocks'' in options or anywhere

  • @SFxMusic Go to options, Then general settings, Then tick "Enable legacy pattern blocks" - hope this helps you out :D

  • this video is horrible because youre explaining every little thing about how to make the beat down to 16th notes, and now every fucking idiot on the planet is going to go and make moombahton... if people were smart they wouldnt teach anyone else so the scene doesnt get flooded with more shit like with dubstep ...

  • @giveupthepfunk well it was bound to happen sooner or later so stop being a little cunt and grow up man!

  • @KevWillow7 electronic music is fun to make so chill, just because people make homemade sutff that dosnt sounds as good dosnt ruin the music asshole

  • @giveupthepfunk why do you think that sub par quality music will ever get to your ears? only good music gets published and shared around. and even if you dont like a song you dont have to click play on it. i dont get what the problem is

  • @giveupthepfunk >this video is horrible because youre explaining every little thing about how to make the beat down to 16th notes

Actually, to me... That sounds a lot more like "This video goes into great depths". Also, it's not as if every idiot goes around making music from ANY genre, that's how we came out with all these emo shit bands, and what not. Just listen to the music you like, and ignore the ones you don't like. Simple as that. Also, thanks OP(Kev) For the great tutorial.

  • @giveupthepfunk if people didnt teach other people everyone would die. also when you first try something new its good to have something to copy off of... then you can slowly move away and develop your own style.

  • 11:39 xD

  • hi kev,

    thanks for al you tuts

    but with the vocal pitching

i dont know how to do it.

    can you tell me

  • Comment removed

  • @JKAYnl Its quity easy, just drag the sample to the piano roll and detect the tempo or fit to tempo.

  • can i ask why you dont upload your songs on itunes just curious.

  • @kevwillow7 Can you make a very short vid of how to do your audio editing? I understand that you slice them, but it sounded like you changed the pitch or something @ 8:50 or just that the acapella vocals you used were that awesome.

  • @sperdoch ive already done a tutorial on vocal stretching, thats all ive done ive stretched the vocal to fit in with my track!

  • cool.

what pack do u use kev? i only find packs that have kicks with some bass or sum like that

  • Moombahton is just house music slowed down aint it?

  • @DannyMoore29 with 2 step percussion!

  • 11:21 WTF IS THAT

  • @TIMarbury SWING :)

  • Anyone happen to know a good Vocal Sample package or something? :D

  • @coolfuka just do what i do... randomly throw ANY acapella into FL Slicer and randomly pick slices, thats where i get my vocals from haha!

  • thanks buddy

  • Need a Zomboy tutorial FTW BRO!!!! GRIMME/FILTH!

  • Dude, couldn't you process a hi hat and rim shots to hell and get that sound ? :P

  • @DJPaggos to get what sound sorry bro?

  • @KevWillow7 Some of the kick sounds.

  • geht crachkin. lol

  • what drum kit/pack are you using? vengenance?

  • @marcduck111 Kicks are a vengeance kick and 2 of my own from my samplepack, and the percussion is just from my Maschine

  • @KevWillow7 k thanks

  • @kevwillow7 is this like the song coke u have o souncloud ?

  • SUBLIMINAL @ 11:19 ?!?!?!?!?!?

  • @fab3rrr ?

  • @marcduck111 i think hes talking about the waynes world reference i was doing hahah!

  • So is moobahcore just faster or..?

  • @stargateheaven23 Na, it's Dubstep basses instead of Dutch House synths, he said it in the video...

  • I think your accent got better hahaha, but yea I made moombahton a long time ago without knowing, thinking I was starting a new genre haha

  • @dinosaursxarexcool you shouldve stuck with it man!!

  • Always save. LOL

  • lol skip to 4:39 to hear kev beatbox xD

  • @Pr0h4tpr0ductions HAHAHAHA!!! i like this!
