I had my heart rate increase as I stopped someone from trying to add more fuel to an already burning alcohol stove. Dangerous at the time, funny story later kind of thing.
Some of the best on trail entertainment can be found during March, at Hawk Mtn Shelter around dinner time. It features an over crowded picnic table, a bunch of brand new just out of the box camp stoves, and a group of day 1 thru hikers that have no idea how to use them. Let's just say the picnic table has seen better days.
@kookiemoose When I was at Hawk Mountain Shelter in 2000, there was a guy with a stove that was actually still in the box. Had to show him how to use it.

i totally had an alchohol stove blow up in my face, while drinking beer with mcfly.... sitting behind a grocery store!

It was at that first night along the AT, at Hawk Mountain Shelter that "Burnie" got her name, due to a 'stove incident' in 2004.
