  • HAHAHAH I FELL ASLEEP LISTENING TO THIS GUY NEEEEEXT

  • what is the maximum recommended tire width on this bike??

    please help!!

  • Crap bike. Never rode very well, the carbon seatstay bonding broke apart and then the headtube cracked later in the year. And I weigh 125 lbs!

  • Im in a serious delema. This, the epic, rize twenty 2 , or th GT marathon expert?????!!!!!!! HEEEEEELLLPPPPPPPPPPPPP!!!!!!!

  • Im driving a Felt Complusion 2 SE (08) and i can confim all the things in the Video. The Bike is one of the best Rides i ever drive.

  • equilink? no offense but i'd stick with the brain.

  • This actually doesn't sound like a bad idea for what's out there. But chain tension is not the only factor in bobbing. In my experience WEIGHT and PEDALING are the main forces in bobbing.

  • The peddling bob-forces are negated. Ride one.

  • He repeats himself a bit and the people in the background make quite a noice...nit picking!

Say what you want, the proof is in the riding. I have been on a Virtue1 (08) and Virtue2 (07) and can say with confidence that this is one of the best pedalling platforms. Compared to other FS bikes this bike squads and bob a lot less and is blindingly fast.

    Definately wirth a test ride

  • That's pretty interesting. I've often wondered how the Equilink system worked. The theory is interesting but as others have said, what about the bob that orginates from the rider's weight loading and unloading the suspension during each crank rotation?

  • Sorry but this guy has made me think about suspention in a totaly diferent way, oh & yes you do get bob from a hardtail, its only fully rigid bikes that dont bob.

  • is he wearing fake eyelashes?

  • I can understand what he's saying but not all bob comes from chain tension, a large amount comes from the rider bouncing up and down, that's why URTs still bob.

The only bikes that don't suffer with bob are hardtails.

  • instead of bashing full suspension or hard tails, why not just agree that Riding Is Good!! regardless of what kind of bike you have. whether you are a weight weenie with full carbon hardtail or a gravity junkie with 10in of travel in the frame, GO RIDE!! it's the best thing for mental health and well-being. just do it!

  • Sold my Santa cruz superlight, I now ride hardtail.. singlespeed hardtail. One gear is all I need. no gizmos,

  • gears aren't gizmos...

  • just go out and ride.. whatever mtb you have, if you're out and riding it, its all good.

  • I have a full suss for fun and a hard tail when I want to go fast

  • crap

  • yawn, i know sus would make me faster but my favourite quote form MBUK (years ago now)

"rocks are hard, and hardtails rock"

  • I will stick it with my blur...can you feel that.felt?

  • Yawn, there goes my insomnia, ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

  • hardtails have their merits, but the better traction from a (well designed) full suspension bike makes a big difference.

Regarding this video, I don't really accept his explanation of how the suspension works... from an engineering point of view I still can't see how chain tug forces would result in equal-opposite forces going through the red link in ALL gear combinations. He sounds like he is just talking crap. But at least Felt are trying to do something different... good on them!

  • couldnt you just use a stiffer shock?

  • you obviously know absolutely nothing about suspension set up.

  • well sorry im not a fucking pussy, i ride a hardtail and i can probably ride better than you

  • he sutters alot

  • sorry but u'll get a wayyyy! better kick out of cycling on a hard tail where as your going to miss out on alot of the bumps and humps which all and all make trail/downhill/mountain biking that bit more fun

  • Eehhh ada yang pake bahasa ya

  • hardtails kick ass

  • if some one buy this bike..i can say he stupid.

  • if you could read your sentence out loud. you could say your stupid!

  • lu pergi mampus lagi bagus..,back2neraka

  • ya right!! THAT'S BECAUSE YOU DONT HAVE MONEY!!LOSER!!!!

  • how about you shut the fuck up and just get a hard tail HAHAH no fucking complicated rear suspension there

  • nope just get bucked over your bars on a set of 1 foot breaking bumps.

  • Show the bike in motion. You talk way too much.

  • This suspension sustem works and it is amazing!!!!!!!!!

  • puuh wat een verhaal

  • i guess they wanna challeng the giant maestro, what a joke!just plus a little red link on the maestro system, you think it changes everything?if it was such a easy thing to do,then you mean you take those giant designer as fool?giant joke...

  • People who cannot afford a good FS bike (or are ignorant) ride hard tails, and that's the truth.

  • by the way, does he look like mr.bean,ha,what a funny guy with his teras bike...

  • this design is crap,i asure you its not gonna work such well as he told you...wholy bull shit!

  • I work in a High end bike shop in the Rocky Mountains. We can't give these bikes away. Road bikes are OK, but the MBs are expensive for what you get.

We haven't sold one all season. YIKES!

  • Another solution for the same problem is Ellsworth's ICT. I would like to see which is more efficient.

  • why have pro-pedal rear shock, as well as the equilink? i find pro pedal works well enough. are they saying their bikes have sloppy back ends and need the equilink as well? pah, i'll stick to my s-works enduro.

  • Beginners should start on a hardtail to develop his control with technical riding and jumps. A beginner with DS would just be riding on eye candy. Although, DS would help ride more safely on trails or drops that you're not yet comfortable on

  • yeah, I think riding a hardtail force you to learn some of the important skills in mountain biking. And face it, it's better on climbs and extremely useful on daily commuting.

  • Exactly, I'm selling my downhill bike and buying a hardtail right now.

  • I'm sorry but you began to make no sense shortly after "outside the box..."

  • Too Be true felt ant know nothing about building quality bike. Huffys are better.

  • Huffys? Wow you're a nOOb, Huffy is one of the WORST bike manufactures ever.

  • i have a rocky mountan flow f1.0 hardail and it wud still shit all over that felt bike lol

  • Well spoken Bro. Makes great sense on paper, but I wanna try it on DIRT!

  • Just wondering.. a beginner mtber shd get a full susp or a hardtail?

  • depends on what riding you do mate free ride / down hill need full sus for dirt jumping or street u need hard tail short travel full sus is good for all round action

  • thanks.

  • id go with hard tail because full sus is alittle harder to control sometimes when u go off jumps so hardtail is better for begginers

  • i got lost wen he sed cownterakt whaight transfer :-s

  • blah, blah blah this guy just shot more bullshit than i have ever heard. the truth is if you ride a hardtail, you dont need to worry about 'bob'. also if you ride a hard tail you are not a puss.

  • thats funny becuz every hadtail ive had ive bent or snapped the back end off the bike soo im all about a little give in the back. im not saying this guys method is that great tho

  • then you are not riding smooth enough... or you are doing so pretty crazy shit or you are one heavy guy

  • fuck you homo lets see you do a 20 foot drop on a hardtail and then we can see who's a puss

  • Very good idea guys. I'd love to see how an experienced professional compares this to the Santa Cruz vpp system.

  • "if it's so damn good, why hasn't it been invented in the motocross world yet?"

You don't have pedals so motocross bikes don't pogo, now do they?

  • yes they do but they have engines so you dont lose any energy. so why don't you learn something about suspension designs before you criticize other designs.

  • felt sucks

  • thanks for the details fagget felt as a company does not suck felt is on of the leading cross country race and trail bikes made today because of there light weight frames and this bar.

  • felt sucks

  • All very good, but lets face it, it's another thing to screw up. Ontop of that, as Mojo suspension (one of the top suspension tuning and modifying companies in the world) would say....if it's so damn good, why hasn't it been invented in the motocross world yet? dont get me wrong, it is a clever idea, but I think companies are over doing it marketing there own shock platforms these days. It's not going to make you any faster or boost your confidence. Single pivot all the way.

  • the answer is theyre not needed in motorcycle world. Bicycles have different characteristics, with human power to begin with, which is delivered at lower frequency (2-3 cranks per second & motorcycle engine turns at up to 10 or even more thousand revs per second), and this causes full suspension bikes to bob - a lot of rider's energy is wasted on suspension compression. Now I have one of those "overmarketed" gimmicks (Giant NRS) and it did make me faster, especially on rocky uphill sections.

  • 'Doing alot of bad negative things'

    Bad negative? you dont say.

  • Felt are darn nice bikes though...

  • Yadda yadda yadda. I will still kick this guys butt going up or down on my Hollowpoint with DW LINK rear suspension!! Woooohoooooo! MKIII rocks!! Go Iron Horse!!

  • my 99 ARS 7 iron horse hardtail still overtakes these kind of people down hill..

  • your stupid if you ride downhill you can bob all you want it doesn't matter pedal bob just makes you faster so no your gay ass hardtail has nothing on this bike
