@TinyKurds I love decrepit birth but I wouldn't have credited them with much influence on this stuff. Although I do see how you might think that. I'd say main influence for my writing with this sorta stuff are bands like Chon, Scale The Summit, Veil Of Maya and even stuff like The Fall Of Troy.

@guitarbeast25 Hahaha sorry to disappoint but I don't think it actually took that long, probably a few days, maximum a week when to get it fully complete. By my standards that's not long. With my writing style I generally pump out a song in a few days to a week if I'm inspired. If I'm not inspired though I pretty much don't write anything I'm happy with so it takes me a long time to do complete songs because it's rare that I get one of those strokes of inspiration if that makes sense.

@98723123 I wouldn't say I get a lot of inspiration haha it takes me a long time to write anything and have it be perfect. I'd just say listen to as much music as you can, of all kinds, if you want direct influences for this sorta stuff check out Veil Of Maya, CHON, Scale The Summit, The Fall Of Troy etc.

@nofx989 Drop D, It's hard to give advice over youtube, but I'd say try and write a lot, and be a perfectionist, it takes me a long time to write music because I'm a perfectionist and wont use anything I think is sub par, Large intervals, arpeggios, rhythm, octave displacement etc are all cool techniques to use.

@mariosport this song is pretty much entirely D natural minor. I used diatonic harmonization for pretty much the whole thing if I remember correctly. It's pretty simple in terms of harmony.

@tanthemanriffsitup what do you mean by that? If you mean are they harmonized by the other guitar part then yes a fair few of them are. If you mean what is the harmony behind most of the riffs in theoretical terms then most of this stuff is harmonized using the natural minor scale. Hope that answers your question but if not just ask again! haha
