People just don't want to be equal which is necessary to have communism working and markets can't really be free which is why you can't have capitalism working. So, social democracy sounds about right, but then all social democratic countries (EU) just seem politically and militarilly weak. Always something wrong Man! :-)

Yeah, ignore the Eastern Front. Millions of Soviet troops died retaking their Motherland and pushing through Eastern Europe and eventually causing the fall of Nazi Germany. The US was not very involved in the European theater, mostly bombing German infrastructure and focused mostly on liberating the Far East from Japan IIRC (correct if if I'm wrong).
Oh, and if for any reason the USSR had to invade Western Europe, lets just say that the WarPac becomes larger than it was.

Churchill wasn't perfect by any means -- but he stood up, when the rest of the world wanted to lie down and give in. If India has any power today, it's because Churchill refused to give in in the forties. You might not like it -- but you should at least be realistic about it. He might not have intended it -- but he stood up, against the worst evil the world has known -- and he won in the end.

If Churchill hadn't stood strong against Germany from '40 -'41 -- and then did everything he could from '41-44 -- Hitler would have swept through Russia like a plague. The Nazis came close enough to Moscow to see the Kremlin through fieldglasses -- and Churchill never wavered once in supporting them against Hitler. On the other hand, Stalin was trying to negotiate a seperate peace as late as 1943. If Britain lasts until 2066, 1940-41 will still be their finest hour.

The US entered the war to expand its economic control--thats what the Marshall plan was about--rebuilding the world after the war using the US dollar as the world currency, based on the expansion of US corporations--that era is finished as the US is insolvent and its industrial base collapsed.
It was the USSR that won WW2. The USSR defeated over 130 German divisions, while the US faced 14 and put off the D Day invasion accordingly

You miss the point. The way the average guy in society has behaved in the past, is the same as it is now and always will be. "Bread and circuses" etc. Bad things happen because we don't learn how other people dealt with exactly the same issues.
People say the USSR was a social experiment, which IMO is correct since many of the ideas were being implemented for the first time. You can't mix up ideology with the personal flaws of dictators. Stalin is widely accepted as having profound flaws.

Or it can be just self interest to the point of disregard for the laws. In the end, irrational self-interest is the underlying problem in both systems. Rational people are drawn to respect leftist thought, because it recognizes the problem, not because it succeeds in solving the problem. Capitalism however parades the problem making it worse.

Ugh. Communism and socialism claim to be "peaceful" or whatever. But you remove land ownership is only done by force. You cannot peacefully take from people the fruits of their labor for your ideas of "doing good" the reason communism turns into oppressive regimes is because the ideals are based on eliminating the individual desire for a "greater good". So you have to force people to work for your ideals. SO in its very basis its one of coercion.

Don't be an idiot, America is a capitalist country and has waged war on behalf of US imperialism--imperialism that is inherent with capitalism. The ideals you speak of embodied in the constitution are not based on any economic system, they are based on a moralistic superstructure that is impossible to acheive under the dog eat dog sytem of capitalism.

Really? This Orwellian double speak is sickening. At least have the common decency to admit what you are. You advocate coercion to "better humanity" not realizing your type is the scourge of humanity. So please instead of confusing people with the words liberty and freedom, just admit you are a follower of the Hobbes theory of order and that self interest is "evil" and that statist know better should direct us misguided peoples of the world.
