Look up "Fallout 3 FWE" , "Fallout 3 Sharing and Caring Companions", and "Fallout 3 RTS". FWE adds a ton of tweaks, weapons, and features. Sharing and Caring let's you recruit anyone. RTS allows you to scan anything in the world and build your own village with it. Just check the top 100 list on Fallout Nexus. Also, make sure you pick up the Fallout Mod Manager and the Fallout Script Extender, many mods won't run with out them.
