i would like to see the episodes from the 60's of GH. ive read all storys from, but i want see it. damn i love this show. but the 60's doesn't exist anymore i think. i think abc had destroyed them
@GLBizzie Actually, ABC did NOT destroy the 1960's episodes of General Hospital (unlike many of its other daytime programs). The first several years of General Hospital are housed, virtually intact, at the UCLA Film and Television Archive on the UCLA Campus. I also have a handful of 1960s episodes in my personal collection.
@robwargo are you for real ? OMG OMG that would be awesome to see them. i would pay EVERYTRHING for them. i love GH. and i'm watching the episodes just since 1980 until 2011.
damn i would realy like to see and get this. i like Steve Hardy so much. he was the heart of GH.
Ever notice that the young guy smart mouthing Dr Steve in the 2nd scene looks like he could be the father of a current soap actor named John Paul Lavoisier!!! JPL plays Rex on OLTL.
"A powerful Series" ----I guess they weren't calling it a soap? It was different than most of the soaps on at that time, perhaps. I think it premiered with the same 2:00/3est time slot that it has today!
@mrtnwnr1 When it debuted April Fools 1963 (the same day as another medical-centric daytime drama, THE DOCTORS--which in fact was originally an anthology, with a complete story each episode) it ran in the 1PM ET slot. It didn't move to 3PM until the last week of December (around that same time, THE DOCTORS converted to a serial format).
My mom used to watch General Hospital when I was small, she liked Nurse Jesse. This was before I liked soaps. Mine was Days Of Our Lives, and Guiding Light as a teenager. I used to LOVE looking at Peter Reckel as Bo Brady, MMMMMM Hubba Hubba! What a BABE!
" You were wrong about me Angie. I'm not a doctor. I'm a barber here to cut off what hair you have left. Well... hmm, maybe if we take off those bandages it will make this labot...errr...umm, this hair cut go smoother."
I have one of the 1966 DS promos, but there were a total of four. I'm really surprised they never turned up on youtube. BTW, on this 1963 GH promo, the hospital where the old ambulance is pulling up is the former Queen of Angels Hospital here in Los Angeles. I work very close to it.
Eddie Weeks was HOT! what did they say back in 1963 when a girl got turned on by a guy? Lol Phil Brewer was pretty handsome too. And played by Roy thinnes(later Sloan Carpenter of OLTL 30 years later)
Dick Tufeld is the announcer for this promo...

@mrtnwnr1 No, people back then they were also called it soaps. I don't know why the speaker said that.

They have ruined this show! Now it's all about the mob and child endangerment. It makes me sick!

This was when soap operas and game shows ruled daytime TV.
