Shibas if properly socialized will get along with other dogs, cats, birds etc. My 2 year old female shiba we don't know her history and she's just now starting to get along wiht other dogs and it's taken us almost a year to get her not to growl. Now our 4 month old puppy has been in puppy class, dog parks and socialized and he's fine with other dogs, somewhat skiddish. But shibas are very nervous and do best offleash when meeting new dogs. They do not like their butts sniffed!

I heard they don't get along with other dogs. Was talking with an owner the other day. Maybe if you got a pup and then it got used to the other dogs over time but I don't know.
