2008-09 NFL Playoff Breakdown: Colts VS. Chargers

I know this vid was made a long time ago but 1 stat that did favor the chargers was net points, 92 nets points for chargers in 08 and 79 for colts, plus if i recall the chargers had more touchdowns that year then the colts, so not every stat was in the colts favor, and on top of that the chargers had beat the colts in the previous year using billy volek so you could of also put that in your chargers arguement to make it less weak.

Emotion can beat any team at any given time, if you want it more than the other team, you can burn that stat book, because it isnt going to matter if you want it much more than the other team, i agree, both teams wanted it badly, if the better team lost here, you can blame it on the chargers wanting it more, and it happened

My team(Indy Colts) choked like they always do in the play-offs with the exception of '07 Super Bowl. You can win MVP and break all the records you want doesn't matter if you choke in the play-offs and lose to the Chargers two years in a row. I wouldn't build my loser team a new Stadium to lose in. I don't know why they did it. You gotta play like you did to get there. With the same drive and intensity. To win 9 games in a row just to lose first round in the play-offs shows their true mettle.

I knew the Chargers would win. I'm a fan too, but after seeing how much they have gone through, from 4-8, to 8-8. Losing to playoff teams by 7 points or less, they have been through so much shit that they weren't going to let the Colts beat them. I'm ready to see your prediction for the Bolts vs. Steelers or Titans.

Which one it is will make a big difference. Also how many points they are getting. The Chargers clearly have fight in them, but on the road against a much tougher defense is not going to be fun. Congrats on your win this week though!

If you noticed during the game, Rivers had a lot of trouble passing because his receivers were covered almost 24/7. The Colts defense is one of the best when it comes to stopping the pass, but they are pretty bad at stopping the rush.

Very true... that being said, I was expecting them to have a bit of trouble against the run, not get absolutely destroyed by it.

If the Chargers play the Steelers, I can see them having trouble since the Steelers have the best defense in the NFL. I think it will be a very close matchup that will be too close for me to predict. If they play the Titans, I really think that they will win. The Titans lost to the Colts 23-0.

That game is irrelevant; both teams were heavily resting starters, neither had anything to play for.

I do agree though that the Chargers match up more favorably against the Titans.

Agree to disagree. The play a very physical brand of football and they earned their extra time off to get healed up. They should be fresh and ready to go next week, and I highly doubt they will be less confident because they took a week to rest.

Losing LO-Neals block has practically killed the Charger's running game because their offensive line truely sucks. They got some new full back guy that was so terrible that they brought in their rookie RB Jacob Hester to replace him as full back (and the team has been better for it). Even if LT doesn't do much, we have Sproles, who is pretty much as good, and the Charger's NEED to sign him again in the off-season.

And to the vid creator: Raiders suck. Always have. Always will.

you must of said the word "stats" over 20 times.. get out of the stat book they dont mean a thing anymore.. it's a whole new game when it comes to the playoffs.. Peyton Manning does horrible against the chargers, and if we let darren sproles get more touches instead of lt i think our running game will be great, phillip rivers is red hot playing mvp caliber.. our defence is ready to step it up..were gonna win..

LT HAS NOT LOST A STEP!! he had a off season yes but he was hurt most of the season and is finally healthy which he proved against the donkeys.Raiders and Chiefs getting better come on now.yes Raiders were playing better in the end of the season but face it RAIDERS SUCK your just mad they haven't beat us in how many games now i lost track.even if LT doesn't play we still got sproles in our backfield ENOUGH SAID. Tomlinson has sat out in practice this week with a groin injury... he will play, but I wouldn't consider him healthy.

If he does indeed bounce back to form next year, this will be considered an "off year" instead of "losing a step", but 2006 (1815 yards / 28 TD), 2007 (1474 / 15), 2008 (1110 / 11) Looks like losing a step to me. But we'll see!
