My son was mis-diagnosed five times by five separate Filipino doctors until one finally got it right - but he was trained in the US, so I don't think it counts.
My wife and mother-in-law believed the original five diagnoses when they were made, if I hadn't been there to question those doctors, my son would be dead.

So many nurses have to go abroad in order to support their families and felt that this was uncalled for as there are many good Filipino med schools.Most also stick together when they arrive in the US because staying together would help them adjust in a foreign land.All are not racist, maybe just very proud of being Filipino--but give them a chance.Filipinos have been trampled on by white people for so long that they will defend themselves from anything that will hurt their countrymen.

My son was mis-diagnosed five times by five separate Filipino doctors until one finally got it right - but he was trained in the US, so I don't think it counts.
My wife and mother-in-law believed the original five diagnoses when they were made, if I hadn't been there to question those doctors, my son would be dead.
The rest of you can spout off unfound opinions as much as you like but I speak from real-world experience.

My wife is Filipina. My son was born with VACTERL (VATER) Association. He was misdiagnosed with Achondroplasia, Downs Syndrome, Holt-Oram Syndrome, Tracheo-Esophageal Fistula (which is a symptom in some VACTERL cases, but not all, and in this case not ours, and "cutting the umbilicle cord too fast".

That seems to be a trademark in American shows these days. But joke or not, these "stereotypes" hurt many people. Yes it is kind of funny to others but it fans the fire of racial prejudice.
