i like these equally with your videos in your garden. the reality of gardening for most of us is we can rack up a HUGE bill through buying the wrong tools, containers, & equipment! I'd rather you stear us toward better things to purchase, than my wasting money & time. BTW, I have 3 shelving greenhouses which I start seeds in. I also have containers on my deck - bought off QVC on sale, my only home shopping purchase! I buy disposable metal pans from biglots to start trays of seedstarts in.
I like these vids. Because of the vids you posted about the seed catalogs I ordered a few and have since bought from three of the companies. Keep them coming!
Hi there, I absolutely adore your videos! I live in SW Florida.Your front yard is amazing w/ the raised gardening! I am on a tight budget & find it confusing picking out what method would be best for me. Could you also include more info on gardening zones?I honestly think you could have your own cable show, but very glad you are accessible here (i do not have cable & stream everything through Roku) Thank you so much for sharing what you do! Also, how do you store the food you grow? Thanks John!
I like some of the kits your showed! especially the herb ones where its a single pot but with openings around it for the herbs to grow out of. very pretty and functional. we use those greenhouse shelving things you showed, we put it in our dining room for starting our seeds in the spring. it's good for the germination period, then we have to take the plastic off because it just gets too warm in it. ~Amanda
ive gone out of the way this year =] i got 5 varieties of tomatoes and 25 varieties of peppers i started in the winter in a greenhouse with a grow light bulb i bought from home depot for like $6. and the greenhouse from walmart for $10 (in my kitchen)
John, have you done a video on your hydroponic setup in the kitchen yet? That would be interesting to see. I just started a small hydroponic setup in my kitchen as well.
It is nice to see what is out there for sale. I often don't know cetain things exist until you show it. You do a good variety of videos so if one video does not suit everyone the next one may.
I like your trips to the home stores. That's how I knew about the price reduction on the 4 by 4 raised bed kits at HomeDepot! Deal of the season...$10 !!! Thanks
Yes.. we LOVE it. I do. I'm starting my first garden this year.. in containers! Having said that, my last jaunt to Big Lots was rather disappointing, lol.
Honestly John, you could do a video at a park and ride and I'm sure you'd find something informative and enlightening to share with us because all of your videos are great! Thanks for the variety too. I've always been too intimidated and lazy to grow a garden but I might start inside and see what pops up.
Hi John, your videos from inside stores does help remind me of the quality of items found there :p actually it helps get my creative gears working to see all sorts of things. The other day I was in a store and almost started doing a video!
nope i don't like it. this is just going to make spent more money and reallized it in a few days or weeks what i bought was just a peice of junk.what i do is i go to the recycling center and most likely what i need for my garden is there, but istead of paying $15 for a 15gallon pot, i pay 50cents. i like seeing other people's garden and get ideas from them
We actually bought two of those $20 greenhouses at Big Lots! back in January. We start seeds inside but because our old house tends to be quite cool, we were able to turn our dining room into a "hot house" and keet our plants warm using those greenhouses. I was able to sprout bunching onions, broccoli, spinach, kale, parsley, sage, and carrots even though we were experiencing record freezing temps. When we eventually build a real greenhouse, then we will use these as shelves inside.
this is awesome !! I have a Big Lots greenhouse !!

What about a video regarding your hydroponic stuff?
therawlifefamily 1 year ago
The problem with those kits is that it's questionable if you will actually reach a breakeven cost.
