@hoytboy2010 Thanks a lot for the awesome complement!
We bead with 6010 then fill and cap with 7018. We cheated a little bit and filled some of the welds up with 7010. We're technically not supposed to do that but no one caught us so it's okay! haha
I have more welding vids I'm going to be posting in the future so please stay tuned!
Are you using the same rods for the root , fill and cap ? what are they please , i noticed that most stick welders out in Canada stove/downhand on pipe ,over in the UK we vertical uphand weld . I would very much like to work in Canada on the pipelines ,it looks good.
@M1XXMATT We use 6010 for the bead, 7010 for a fill, then 7018 to cap. Process pipe is normally filled and capped with 7018 uphand but ll overland Pipelines in Canada are welded Downhand as per Pipeline Code.

@Hoschi0913.... You are NOT nor ever was a professional welder. As soon as you said you Tig welded pipe with umbrellas, etc.... I knew you were just another fuckn keyboard-clown head! Tig welding pipe outdoors.... In wind/snow..... Good grief, I swear YouTube is filled with retarded LIARS and idiots! You have no fucking clue what you're talking about. Fuckn milk toast asshole.
tent or umbrella ,shields it just fine,nice big root and a cap....done,did tig welding for 5+years in chemical plants and oil reffinery's,we always used tig for root and fill,only rod welded the cap on bigger pipelines ,10inch and above,its just faster and less heat exposure to the material,but thats just my experience ,might just not for for what you doing there
the size of the pipes does matter,the rest is technic's / experience / skill,did 300+ way back then,but does was only 1/2 to 1 inch,so no big deal or one 25inch with 1inch wall Cromium/Molubdean in 8 hrs ,no bid deal either,still like a said ,might just not be right for what you do
@richiesuller Technically we're "cheating" here. We're not supposed to go downhill for anything but the bead but we filled this stuff up with 7010. We capped everything with 7018.
Are you guys burning 6010? or 7018? i cant really see the color of the rod. btw great video, you have the best welding vids on youtube.

why not entirely TIG weld those small pipe's ?
Hoschi0913 4 months ago
@Hoschi0913 You can't TIG Weld in the field fast enough. We weld 150+ joints of pipe a day.

@xAZAZELx13
what size are those ? 4 - 6 inches in diameter and the wall thickness 1/2 inch ? i think you could

@Hoschi0913 You're gonna get 150+ welds a day moving tents around and TIG welding the whole time. I don't think so!

@alexino562 Around 80 amps for the root and probably somewhere between 160-200 for the fill and cap. I don't remember exact numbers.
