  • Jim Morrison is playing piano on this song, too. I'm pretty sure this is the only time he's played any instruments on an album (besides vocals, of course).

  • From what I read, the original version of this song was recorded by Jim and some random musicians he grabbed off of the streets of Paris. Later, after his death, the rest of the band got the recordings and remixed it.

  • @NothingSafe You are right

  • is it just me, o this song makes such a great tune to have sex to?

  • son l mamada i simepre lo seran att:edwin darreel niño rodriguez

  • that's jim playing the piano...amazing <3

  • @LizMorrison69 No, it's Ray - if you listen to the original...it does sound like Jim :)

  • @metyuewb In a recent biography I read it said that it's Jim... maybe not throughout the whole song, but maybe bits n pieces??

  • @LizMorrison69 From what I know he recorded his vocals with piano before he went off to Paris and the band recorded their part after he died. They left his piano in there but I guess it wasn't sufficient for a full track's keyboard especially once they had Ray...but anyone reading this correct me if it's not so

  • alcohol & drugs have been around since before the birth of Jesus, wake up!

  • one of the best songs out there

  • i like the background music sounds like the bluyes and i like the bassline

  • i'm laughing at you.. what was it?... tutmosis. and jim there seems to have it much more clearly together than spatters for fun like you do. go pick on someone your own size.

  • Wordless. What a gem.

  • @rudybaylor1990 i especially like this song because it's so calm and you can really hear and appreciate the beautiful voice of Jim.

  • when this song started I was thinking gwen stefani was going to start singing.

  • Only 27 at death. That is the hardest thing to believe. There is no wonder why Morrison is considered a rock god.

  • Listen to this with rainy mood on...could be the best combo around

  • @benji174 Raining outside right now.

  • It really is disappointing when people go on videos to just slander them. If you don't like it, don't listen. These videos are posted for the pleasure of the viewer. The Doors have inspired me in ways not many bands have, and to have some dimwits come on these videos and trash these songs as merely drug influenced, really is a shame.

  • iDidnt know that Morrison played the piano for this song :) The Doors are the best xD

  • jim would be pissed that it isn't written the doors instead of jim morrison.

Beautiful song by the way. Very talented band, and one of the best.

  • Thanks for sharing. Jim was a real poet..

    RIP lizard king <3

  • and 40 years have gone by.

    R.I.P. jim <3

  • @herhiddensmile Great comment.

  • thank you for sharing this brother

  • thankyou. this mans voice haunts me and this tune plays in my head on and on.. i thought i had dreamed this. i was a pothead in hight school on a once in a lifetime changing acid trip last time i heard this tune. thankyou for letting me hear it again.

  • The Doors Producer (Rothchild) didn't like the music the Doors were working on for L.A. Woman, That's why he left the sessions and they produced it with Botnick. This track (Orange County Suite) - music added by the surviving doors sometime in the 90's to Morrison's vocal.

  • L.A WOMEN is the best album, la women is when the door reunited. there producer didnt help them with this one, he told them they had to do it on there own. so what did they do after that? they started writing this album.

  • Nice tribute to Pamela

  • this is emotion in song, thats what made the doors brilliant every song relates to a moment

  • im still here

  • I really wish that they had put this on their album back iin 1971. But, I'm glad that at least it's been released for all of us to hear. And pay no attention to those who malign this great band. It's like (not exactly, but metaphorically) like trying to explain the concept of God to someone who refuses to believe, no matter what. It's just a shame that a lot of people don't appreciate this band.

  • f*cking love this song!

  • In case no one knows the background on this song-Jim had recorded it alone at the piano;that's him playing the basic chords that open it and run throughout. The remaining Doors did a "Free As A Bird" on it by adding their instruments to what Jim had already done.Originally appeared oon The Doors box set.

  • Dear God,

I might have never prayed to you, but listen to me.

Please, bring the word "Music" back to our time.

Bring back, that what everybody is missing.

    Sincerly,

    me.

  • Some people are just so ignorant. Why can't people understand that this music is way ahead of its time. Bands today are still trying to reproduce this sound and cannot even come close to it. I listen to rap and hip hop for the majority of my music... but I still find myself coming back and listening to the late and great Jim Morrison and the doors.....Great music is GREAT MUSIC...........END IT Haters..

  • the sadest song ever

  • This is a great song.I find it sad but love it for that very reason.I've been a Doors fan since a kid. Before my time but I listened like it came out yesterday.Reminds me of a girl I lost forever and never got to say goodbye.People that can't see or feel the artistry, musicianship, and poetry put forth by the Doors,I feel for them.Like tutmosis here.Sheep, thought I.Regardless, not all will comprehend the beautiful reality that was the Doors.

  • Light my fire was nothing compared to this, Jim made his best stuff drunk and depressed i hate to say

  • utterly amazing

  • Well sir I uploaded something that beats your 37 veiws on your stupid video

  • @tutmosis1907 Well I can consider you gey why else would you check out a justin beiber video faggot

  • @snowboard3rking The only reason you fools insist on this trash is because it's made by Jim Morrison who performed masterpieces like "Come on Baby Light my Fire" and "Riders on the Storm". Well sure these are milestones on rock history but doesn't mean everything they did should be great. PS: I'm straight and even in my whole life didn't watch or listen Justin Bieber once. That was just a response from your point of view in "Quantity sucks against Quality"

  • muhaha

  • @caseyabbott666 yeah your cool, fuck you to

  • @snowboard3rking greatjob on the video

  • Comment removed

  • @tutmosis1907 Its just a shame that you can't hear this beautiful music. Well, I can't hear you either.

  • @newrealization12 That's the point my friend. You got it! You are only hearing but not listening.

  • @tutmosis1907 stfu u semi consious ignorant lil bitch n stop trash talking, these dudes were true unique works of art and thats exactly what came out of their asses into many speakers all over the world, if u still gonna follow ur false opinion that the doors were trash, then go fuck urself up the ass buddy

  • @max777mr I hope you are not threatening me. First, it was my own opinion on this trash, whatever you like is your problem. Second, I'd prefer snowboard3rking' s language, 'cause he/she is more respectfull and open minded to different ideas. Third, as a fourty years rocker I know very well what is real rock and what is not. I've made my choice on this issue, that's it. Rest of it is your own problem. Please be polite and happy new years to all.

  • @tutmosis1907 dont be such a semi consious stinky bumbum, aprox 50 years ago these dudes were absolute unique creative works of art n thats exactly what came out of their bum n into many speakers all over the world n if u still will follow ur false opinion of the doors, then go ef urself booooooooob

  • @tutmosis1907 Cant you see this is poetry?

  • @tutmosis1907 SURE, Morrison was a drunken asshole. BUT he was a poet also. Are you trying to say that his songs and the music of the Doors is BAD because Morrison liked drugs and booze? Im sure NASCAR and moster truck rallies with Toby Keith playing the half time show is more to your liking. Thats OK. Morrison and The Doors are HISTORICAL. Universally known classic songs. WHAT do YOU offer the world thats worth anything?

  • @tutmosis1907 dear titm- i mean tutmosis, FUCK YOU sooo BAD! Cheers. Yours disrespectuflly and proud, a guy who ain't a shithead like you =)

  • @tutmosis1907

You sound like a government test robot resigned to spread ignorance acrosss the internet. Well it seems that the test failed. Go back and listen to you Justin Beiber song in which you had 10,000,000 of those views on.

  • @tutmosis1907 Can't you see this is the beautiful, fearful truth?

  • @tutmosis1907 hahhaaha youre prolly a u2 fan.......fag

  • @idontevenknowme You are a fucking moron!!!!

  • @bugmusk6 yeah,,,u2,,,i like how every song sounds the same

  • @tutmosis1907 You cant blame anyone about his personal life.. I wish everyone could right such "trash" music and every one could be perfect.. BUT no one is perfect and no one can attach music with art.. Jim never wanted to be a GOD, but faith made him..

  • @tutmosis1907 what the fuck are you talking about this song was'nt even released

  • Loser

  • @tutmosis1907

mabye trash is the only thing that really matters. Go to your "drug-free" church and annoy them with your irrational bullshit. Sunday Trucker, Christian Motherfucker.

  • @tutmosis1907 actually this was probably made under the influence of alcohol since this was the time jims drinking problem was at its worst and what if it was under the influence of a drug you obviously dont realize when the doors of perception are cleansed everything will appear to man as infinite.

  • @tutmosis1907 And art written or done under a drug affect is a bad thing?

  • @tutmosis1907 One who knows nothing can be expected to understand nothing.

i'm all for expression of opinion, but it should stay as just that.

you wanna say you prefer your rock over this, that's fine,

but why take all the credibility out of your argument by slandering our beliefs?

why go to the trouble of pissing a community off, when you could be content in knowing there is stuff influenced by drug use, counter balancing stuff written while sober and straight edge?

  • @tutmosis1907 drugs are awesome! god sucks!

  • @tutmosis1907 no but i can see you are a prick!

  • @tutmosis1907 Have you taken a good shit lately?

  • the sadest song ever

  • Manzarek called this "drunken gibberish."

Maybe he was the drunk one lol. This song kicks ass.

  • it's not included in L.A Woman... This song was recorded in Paris by Jim, dedicated to Pamela with American's Street Musicians who played in exchange for alcohol, in a Studio near from his home.... after this Orange County came the last recording from Jim.......Mojo&theSmoothiers 2 weeks before he died!!

  • @narvaezcesar Bullshit. This was recorded in the US before Jim ever left to Paris. Jim's recording with amateur musicians in Paris was a load of crap. Yes it happened but it was complete trash.

  • Song is awesome; it reminds me of film noir. Don't know why.

  • A beautiful song. The Doors are almost as beautiful and truthful as Kafka. Absolute art. Ride on to Infinity.

  • @beforelaw

Kafka is my most important influence as a writer. you`re so damn right my friend!

  • @davidhabel91

Good to know there are others who feel the same, cheers.

  • This song is not on L.A Woman , why does people say so ?

  • @monadasmoinas It's on the bonus tracks of the 40th anniversary release

  • @monadasmoinas

because it`s also on a special edition of the album. It`s not the original by Morrison

  • @monadasmoinas because this song was released on the L.A. Woman cd for their special edition for the 40 anniversary

  • 3:50 - my favorite part ,

    "Yeah, but she remembers Chicago

    The musicians AND guitars

    and grass by the lake

    and people who laugh'd

and made her poor heart ache"

  • @snowboard3rking I'm happy right this second, why do you think none can know happiness?

  • @theprimeform Because there is multiple types of happiness and most of the time you are depressed in life over everyday things for example Stress

  • These are the true gems... Not their commercial stuff... Which is good no doubt.... But this is the True Blue Doors!

  • Lost Paris Tapes- Jim recorded this alone with piano. After his death- the orig piano part was removed and the rest of the Doors added the instruments you now hear.

  • @rainerroxxursoxx um the name of the album is la woman. but i think theres an orange county new york aswell.

  • I heard this is not Jim, but Ian Astbury remastered.

  • @christianecameron most of the songs on The Lost Paris Tapes, if you will were not recorded in Paris.

  • @christianecameron I think it is or nthey made a big mistake XD cuz its on LA woman

  • This is from Paris? From what I read from Manzarek, Jim's Paris recordings were "drunken gibberish." This isn't gibberish but rather melancholic. Morrison's voice doesn't sound bad considering his asthma began to flare up around that time (along with all of the hard living).

  • He has such a very sad sounding voice in the la woman album

  • Yes I know but make the best of what we have :)

  • yeah makes you wonder how much stuff is still out there unreleased

  • yeah makes you wonder how much stuff is still out there unreleased

  • Such a long, long road to seek it, all we did was break and freak it. We had all that lovers ever had, we just blew it... I love this.

  • this shit feeds my soul

  • Nobody has ever been able to duplicate the sound of Jim and the Doors. Thats why they are so unique and one of the greatest if not the greatest rock band ever. Unbeleivable music. Ageless and timeless. Thanks for putting up the vid

  • @estiffle ageless, timeless. perfect words and that's it

  • you can actually hear the despair in Jims voice. This is a rare recording. Thank you for sharing this. Im sure theres a lot of this material and I am thankful for anything that is posted in regards to Jim. Thank you

  • @loveybells77 your very welcome i haven't been on in awhile and i am thankful for this nice comment. Thank you.

  • @loveybells77 there is no despair in his voice, he was rich he had no reason to be depressed, he could have lived in a tent in the woods if he liked indians so much as people think, he chose to get famous and then couldnt handle it

  • @witchcraftlord lol u think money brings happiness ?? I don't think so...

  • @KafroThrasher I didnt say i think money brings happiness, i was making a point that because jim was a drug user, it made him manic and crazy he wanted to live life on the edge, who knows why he was depressed, but to say that money doesnt bring happiness is not true, he need to eat to stay fit, it doesnt make someone greedy if they want to make money to buy food,

  • @witchcraftlord my point just was that no matter how wealthy you are you may be desperate as well

  • @witchcraftlord Nobody knows Happiness even if you think you do, you never will...

  • @snowboard3rking i know happiness, im 21 and im happy, but ive struggled with manic depression insomnia, hospitals, .. ive wanted to die, and i can look at that and think how foolish, i love life, i am a musician, and singer,

  • @witchcraftlord like I said you may think you do...

  • @loveybells77 This is not rare as it's the recording from L.A. Woman..

  • This is one of my fav songs all time. The doors are my second fav band of all time.

Jim Morrison - A true Legend.

  • ..." we work out on the farm,

we climb out to the mountains

and everything's fine, and I'm still here

and you're still there and we're still around..." what it's important is the time we shared and spent together.....if we did the balance and you conclude that the best times are more than the bad ones...so it was worth everything........

  • I hope Pamela courson heard this beautiful suite prior to her death....... The love and pain and regret is so palpable

  • This song is so soothing and melodic, paired with meaningful lyrics, much like the effect Riders has on you.

  • Beautiful song. Jim Morrison is a legend.

  • This is not "Grade A" Jim Morrison material. It needs to be cut down, made melodic, maybe into two 3 minute songs. If Jim had lived, this presumably might have appeared on a Doors album in 1972 or 1973, but it's nowhere near yet up to the quality of anything on the

    L.A. Woman album.

  • @wheelinthesky300 maybe it was supposed to be simple and sad not meodic and trippy

  • @KafroThrasher In the form as Jim left it,

it would not have gotten any radio time,

and is really not in the form of songs on previous Doors albums.

I'm guessing here, but had Jim lived,

and if it ever saw the light of day,

it would have gone thru several revisions.

  • @wheelinthesky300 Who cares about radio time anyway ?

  • the album is actually

    The Lost Paris Tapes (Bootleg)

it was a secret tape that after jim's death was found in his belongings but was not officially published to the public!

  • it's just like Micheal Jackson owned half of The Beatles and still had half of there albums, but i may be wrong.

  • Probably understood, but just had to say its not actually on the LA Woman album, just a bonus track.

    Thanks for the song

  • my mistake it was just on the album as L.a woman =? but oh well thanks for the comment

  • songs what matters anyways

  • says everything there has to be said and so much more.

  • A treasure to bring back...parts of this song were used in an old NBC TV series from 1978-79, "Lifeline", and the episode was based on Dr. Joan Hodgman, a pediatric physician. It did not include Morrison's vocals, but a lot of Robbie Krieger's guitar solos. A very sad song based on the relationship of Jim Morrison and Pamela Courson. Released September 17, 1970. Awesome.
