The show I am trying to remember, the government men ask the scientist what he used as a fuel to detonate his new mega-bomb...and he tells them, "ordinary atoms"...as the entire Earth goes up in an atomic reaction. I can't remember which show it was but it was a damn ingenious plot. Outer limits....Night gallery....something like that.
Does anyone remember a sci-fi...maybe the Outer Limits where some government agents were nursing along a mad scientist just long enough for him to complete his project. I don't think the audience knew exactly what his project was...just that the scientist was losing his mind, and that the project was monumental and he was key to it. In the end he completes his work....but he was working on a bomb beyond nukes....which uses common atoms for detonation...which consumes the entire planet.
I'm a "late" baby boomer, we had some pretty good thrillers back in the sixties - I am impressed by the memories these clips are bringing back to me - thank you for sharing them with the community,
Amazing. The Invaders and Suzanne Pleshette at her most gorgeous. Doesn't get much better than that really... not even with Spock's rival and Dabs Greer as a priest.
Suzanne was a pretty and talented woman.

Suzanne Pleshette looked like a million bucks in this! Thanks for posting it.

Narrator sounds like Dick Wesson, who did Walt Disney Presents.

@JetMechMA I remember that one, The scientist had lost his daughter and was longing to "see" her again. I thought it was a Night Gallery episode.

@makeminefunky Thanks, I'll check Night Gallery episodes then.

@JetMechMA It was Night Gallery. A second season episode with Glenn Corbett called "Little Girl Lost".
