We now know via Ms. Townsend that during this time top secret offices unknown to the public are operating in every state . Politics inside of polltics not a needle in the haystack more like a needle in a stack of needles. Frans Townsends emotional investment in John P. O'Neill Sr. was ligitimate and that politics is dangerous business and mavericks in the end are conveniently misplaced. It is all a sad state of affairs.

It's absurd to say " there was no discussion about politics when raising threat level " what's Bush or Cheney going to say in front of several people or (witnesses).You know we can get points politically if we raise level . Only the extreme guillible believe these alerts, with the subsequent Pavlovian reaction of the populace, were not politically motivated. They always managed to happen when a crisis or scandal hit the Bush White House. Whether Ridge wants to sell more books is immaterial. They did the same with McClellan, when his book came out, ignoring the fact that McClellan had been a big W. fellator for years. People like Townsend give legitimacy to the most criminal administration in our country's history.
