I agree, I love the first Billy too. I thought he and Brett were adorable. Plus they had more interaction than the second Billy who was always fighting at war.

Orry and Constance are killed by Bent.
Bent kidnaps Charles's son, Gus while George and Charles hunt him down, rescues Gus, and kill Bent.
George and Madeline find comfort with one another and get together.
Billy and Brett move to California with their kids but they are not shown (except for one scene where Brett visits the Mains).
