  • My 88 firebird has that problem. It takes forever to get running.

  • My truck did the same thing,I had to replace the cat converter.it was clogged up.

  • my truck has the same problem its the same kind it started doin it a couple of months ago now it wint started hardly at all in the 30 and below temp.

  • Fuel pump, or the stupid black rubber connector that hooks it to the supply line.

  • Sounds like the carb my camaro with a 350 did the same thing

  • Ok so first I didnt even wanna post because of my sreen name but ivee had it since you tube started so whatever..... My 92 also started doing this yesterday and I got scared cause im a girl and I know nuthing about fixing cars and I'm broke! But my Boyfriend said it may be the fuel pump because I let my fuel go to low and have run out of fuel atleast 7 times since June!! But im going to get someone to look at it tomorrow and do what the last person who comented said to do!!! So we'll see......

  • its the mapping sensor on the back of the throttle body my truck did the same thing it got unplugged easy fix

  • Its a chevy thats the problem.

  • @fordsmopars4lif3 fuck you

  • @fordsmopars4lif3 fuck you

  • I gotta 99 k2500 suburban, doin the same thing right now, it's been running a little rough for a little while nothin bad.. I park it go out the next day, started doing the same thing yours is, except when I go to give it a little gas, just floods, not stomping the gas just barley tapping it.. I dont know where to start with it.

  • I got a 92 c1500 5.7 it runs fine for a few hrs then stalls but before it stalls the shift light starts blinking and it dies, then it wont start for about an hr maybe 45 mins i've changed spark plugs, fuel pump, fuel filter, ignition modulator... also when it warms up it idles very low and shuts off can any one tell me what you think it could be?

  • My 93 gmc dually does the same thing... Acts like its running out of gas... Then it quits and runs fine... It does it intermittently and when it does this, after it stops doin it, it idles high and the trans shifts weird... Would the egr do this?

  • Clean your carb. All of it and my exhaust donuts where bad which fixed it also.

  • @josh666675 its throttle body

  • sounds like fuel pump is going

  • Alright I have a major question about my truck. Its a 94 and I've replaced the whole distributer, plugs, wires, and the ignition coil and it still won't start up. Its fires a little bit but other than that nothin. Its getting fuel and spark but I don't know what else to do. And the dash behind the glove box makes this clicking noise when I turn the key on and off and it does it for about 15 seconds.. please help!

  • @chevboy94 Okay the clicking noise, this is probably the same thing what was wrong with my '94 k1500 305ci sb (yours is obviously the 350ci sb). Anyways, is the clicking coming from straight down from the back of the glove box?

  • I got the same truck, same mileage, same problem.. its the egr valve! Mounted on the top of the manifold, its either stuck open or not closing!

  • EGR valve my suburban was like that same thing run with throttle on then stall out. $20 bux under the air filter in back of engine.

  • i do not know if this is it or not. But my 1994 Silverado 1500 with the 350 TBI was doing this for a while. We replaced the ECU, fuel pump, filter, O2 sensor, anything we could think of. Come to find out, it was bad grounds messing with the electrical system. We just started adding extra grounds to everything and it has run fine ever since. just a thought.

  • my volvo did the exact same thing and it was that it needed tuned

  • Comment removed

  • @MrJunkProductions You might wanna recheck your statement. It only has 95k on it, not 950k....

  • Sounds like its flooding a little.

  • Fuel filter

  • Might be somethin to do with the carburator jets stopped up or needs a new one

  • check the throttle position sensor

  • My 91 did that intermittent stuff just like yours and eventually quit running altogether. Ended up being the ignition module under the cap stupid easy fix. Might be a good idea to go ahead and change it because the problem went away for about 6-8 months then randomly cropped back up on me.

Strange sense of pride knowing it survived 296,000 HARD miles without leaving me stranded. It's at 302,000 now and I still drive it like I stole it :)

  • i would check the fuel filters on the injectors on the TBI to see if they are spitting funny. get a TBI rebuild kit and go form there, that fixed the one i worked on doing the same thing

  • wow 95 thousand mine has 240 thousand

  • Check the Throttle position sensor on the TBI (Opposite side of the throttle cable on TBI - has two screws holding it - fast way to check is disconnect it while the engine is running, see if it has any effect on engine, if it changes the way the engine runs it might still be ok), or the Air Intake Control Valve on the TBI (big thing with quad plug on it, on the side of the TBI - might be full of carbon) , See if any of the spark wires have a hole in the insulation.

  • @RedneckPeg this shit will happen to your ford it takes time..get ready to find a new frame after yours rotts out.fords are good for that shit.

  • my grandpas truck has 600k miles still running strong only had 1 tranny swap and had replaced the fuel pump twice

  • fuel pump mine did the exacy same thing!! but im not sayin thatll fix roblem immediatly there could be other small things

  • depends on how long it sat maybe bad gas or gummed up injector, sea foam that thing

  • Mine did that and I found out that a spark wire wasn't hooked up and I fixed it and it ran just fine

  • does it have a throttle postioning sensor check it if it does I have 1991 geo storm, that had that problem.

  • I was thinking bad fuel as well until it just started running fine in the video. It may be your ignition control module (electronic unit under your cap). My truck (93 K2500) was cutting out like this as well until it would not spark almost at all. The unit tested ok but probably because it would work intermittently. Others have mentioned these can fail in very odd ways. I replaced the unit and the truck ran great.

  • @kelly6580 yah a 1992 dodge. Please.

  • its called buy a dodge

  • Was the map sensor vacuum hose popped off? This happened to my truck I started it up in the morning and it ran really bad. If its on good, Maybe the pickup coil is failing, Its a easy test in under the distributor cap w/ a multi meter that cam ohm out wires

  • its prolly the fuel pump cuz mine went out and it was doing the same thing

  • sounds like its cammed to the balls.haha how bout ur iac motor, map sensor, tps, clogged vaccum line, timing knocked off.

  • @RedneckPeg Yeah I think after the second time it stalled in the video I started it and it ran smooth as can be.

And I live in Northeast Oklahoma. You?

  • @RedneckPeg Yeah that's why my daily driver is a Nissan. lol

But in the video it cleared itself up. I never did figure out what made it run like that. It still runs fine to this day other than the battery went dead from sitting too long.

  • @ChevelleSS If the battery went completely dead the computer has to relearn the parameters. They will act sorta stupid sometimes for a while.

  • @ChevelleSS Coulda just been bad gas. I had that happen in my 1996 Chevy K1500. Had it sit for a month, did the same thing till I put some fresh gas in it.

  • @ChevelleSS Did you every find out what was causing your problem?

  • @pcfd20 Nope. It cleared up in that video and never did it again.

  • @ChevelleSS If it does it again check all your ground connections. Mine did this the other day and then would not start. Pull all my grounds and sanded the ends and connection points and she fired right up. Every one told me fuel pump as well lol..

  • @RedneckPeg I have 2 Fords......... One has left me stranded and the other has a fuel leak.

  • If your still having problems try the injectors. Those throtlle body injecters dont age well.

  • @ajheld13 It fixed itself in the video, then was just very random, and now it's fine.

  • Vacuum leak?

  • My guess is that ur engine is either pretty wornout or your pistons have holes in them and can pump enough pressure also Disenguage Ur egr valve it wears down on ur eightth cylinder

  • @Chevyman350silverado It can't be something mechanical like that. It's only got 95k miles on it and it is intermittent. It has only messed up once since this vid. I don't know what caused it, or what fixed it but it's been running fine ever since. Killed a battery since I posted this from sitting, but it starts and drives fine with the warranty replaced battery.

  • @ChevelleSS sounds like water in the distributer

  • ignition or air because sounds like fuel is ok

  • Lol i remember when my fuel pump was bad lol it did the exact same thing! mines a 98 gmc 5.7l vortec!

  • my truck is a 96 cmc. and its doing the same exact thing. did you gwet it fixed?? Ive replace everything fuel pump, fuel filter, fuel pump relay. how did you get it fixed

  • @SuperMatt1020

At 45 seconds when I started it up it was cleared out. It fixed itself and is very very random on when it acts up like that again. I never figured it out because it quit doing it.

  • in fact its the fuel temperature sender and sensor also check egr valve

  • fuel pump or mass airflow sensor or fuel lines

  • It is the fuel pump, my truck had the exact same problem, i purchased the whole kit for about $250. The easiest way to get to your fuel pump is going to be the 8 bolts holding the bed onto the frame. Take those off and install your new part and Bingo my friend. I have a 96 GMC k1500 that was doin that exact same thing. You can test your fuel pressure and it will still show but it will pump very little if any fuel up at all. Good luck.

  • try replacing the injecters

  • try replacing the injecters

  • try replacing the injecters

  • Could be the coolant temp sensor, but like you said its happening when your mostly in a parking lot barely touching the gas so my suggestion would be to test the TPS (throttle position sensor) the cave man computer in these year chevs will detard the timing when the throttle is not depressed for a length of time not sure exactly how long

    Hope this helps

  • mine is doing the exact same thing could it be the fuel filter?

  • @beaverturtle I've ruled out the fuel filter being it, or anything fuel related for that matter. It mostly does it at idle and low RPM, and it is intermittent. If it was the fuel filter it would mess up more at high RPM.

  • check your timing and maybe your egr valve is bad

  • Its your distributor, 5.7 all go out, the magnet on the shaft is bad , replace distributor, if you dont beleave me just research it

  • Did you ever fix the problem man?

  • No actually I haven't. This truck doesn't get driven much but it has gotten a lot more intermittent. It seems to do it most when I am in a parking lot just barely touching the gas.

  • bc you cant put a lopey ass cam on tbi heads. didnt you do any research

  • Nope, no need to research because the engine is still 100% stock......

After the second stall (if you bothered to watch the whole video) it straightens out and runs like normal. This is why I posted the video, because it runs like crap intermittently.

  • the problem is your cam dumbass

  • How so? Please explain this to me.

  • It's the coolant temp sensor, when they fail they cause the engine to run very poorly due to over-enrichment.

Try unplugging it then starting the engine, should get better.

  • My guess? ECT coolant temp sensor. When they fail they cause It to run very rich and have trouble idling.

I'd pull the plug off the temp sensor and see if it run better.

  • pretty big cam man!!

Probably just needs head gaskets and head studs.

  • LOL I was waiting for that.
