@chubeviewer except then you have to land on the button. You cant remove a portal from under you, so it would add AT LEAST 1 more step, plus a couple to get off the button. This way is more clever.

I make 3 steps when i reach the first blue portal, so how do you do it with two?

you can jump out elevator and land in a portal with 2 steps on Pc and xbox,

also on Pc there is a way of 1 stepping out of an elevator, i believe it was either Nubsawace or Transgenic86 that did a tut.

i can'T do it, for some reason my portal counts the steps different

first of all, to jump into the first portal already takes at least 3 steps, no matter how i jump or whatever.

But EVERYTIME i get out of a portal and "land"(not walk, land) on the ground it counts that as a step.

@LLCoolDave Portal was recently patched to make this a tad bit harder. Also, sometime back (as this is a 2y old comment) they added a transmission achievement with the radio.

If there's a secret to landing without it counting as a step the please spill. Every time I hit the floor, no matter what the cause, the step counter increments.

Example: You are bouncing; you go through yellow, out of blue, and shoot blue onto the ceiling before you make it back. You land (since there's no portal under you anymore), but it won't count as a step.
