The O2 saturated pefluorocarbon concept is not real at all. Cool idea, but not feasible. The liquid would be too hard to push in and out of your lungs. You would eventually drown in it. Also, the liquid would strip the lungs of its thin layer of liquid which helps support the lung structure and also aids in diffusing the O2 into the blood stream.

@YvonneL4u Have seen both version many time, but what else have been shorted down, maybe you know that. I've tried to figure that out myself, becouse it's a big difference in length so my question is what more. However this is the theatrical version and have both scenes.

@PirateOfLoserville You can't move up to the surface quickly, your lungs will form bubbles and pop cause there are little bags of air in your lungs, it's not a giant bag, which most people think, and there is also blood clots that could happen if you rise too fast. (PS:I want you to PM me if you can or have more clips of this.)

This scene, as a diver myself, always scared me. Going to 100 ft scared the crap out of me on my first dive. Interwoven rig supports, big fish, hammerheads...

This scene merely shows a signal of hope...a message...to something that is here on earth...ANY DIVER WOULD RISK HIS/HER LIFE to do this....but that's just me...GREAT. MOVIE. :D

no, deco is not necessary. He breathes liquid, not air.

It is really possible, they tested this with rats. I don´t know if you know the film...In the film scene it´s a real rat and it really breathes liquid.

In diving the pressure inside the lungs must effectively equal the pressure outside the body, otherwise the lungs collapse. Since external and internal pressures must be equal, the required gas pressure increases with depth to match the increased external water pressure. in plain english it littery mean that you would implode.

@86random This is in the movie mate. She let her self drown vs freezing to death. She do this because, like u said no liquid will enter her lungs, and the cold water make her body go into a resting state but wouldn't stop completely, almost like preserving.

-If you're going to post your favorite scenes; please don't cut out the scenes into pieces. Totally fucked up the composition. (and my apologies, if this is actually the theatrical release... I heard the movie had to be cut at parts for the length of time, but this particular editing looks ridiculous.) .

I'm not doing it to any secret. If you listen on the dialog, 40000 feet to 1 mil down on a heart beat, due this scene is neer 20 min long and I had to cut down the dilog. But I do precist you're input.

Just wanted to say that this scene like so many others in this movie is so great. I used to never care for this movie years ago but I had the chance to watch it once when I had a few hours to spare and I have probably watched it a few hundred times since then. This scene and the CPR scene are the 2 best out of all of them. Thank you for posting this PirateOfLoserville.
