  • El nombre de la canción es INDIANOLA en un homenaje al lugar donde nació B.B.King

  • Now that is what I call a bass player!!!

  • it ain't Indiana. it's Indianola! as the small Delta town in Mississippi. home of BB King. where the blues was born

  • I love the pared down guitar sound-you can really hear him digging into the strings without any processed sound bogging things down.

  • indianaola?

  • this dude rocks he is a master jazz blues player.

  • mamma mia che groove....ma avete sentito quando robben ford accompagna l'assolo di organo?????? DA PAURA.....

  • this guy sould live forever

  • Fine quali - thx for the vid.. ;-)

  • Owiee Superb!

  • fantastic!

  • Great. Lean an mean, nothing extra, a class act!

  • Robben Ford is a virtuoso. Bonamassa is another. We're lucky to have youtube so we can enjoy these and other masters!

  • Vilket band! :

  • It's called 'Indianola', not 'Indiana Blues'.

  • I'd like to stick my head inside of his guitar cabinet.

  • wow that rythme guitar at around 2.20 , very tight :D!

  • The way a telecaster should always sound!!!!

  • Robben Ford is great! and he is my 2nd or 3rd cousin! he is great!!! rock on cuzzo!!

  • What a complete TONE MONSTER !!! Robben Ford is the real deal and has been for many years ... guys like Clapton must cringe when people bring his name up in conversation. Sure Clapton sells more but that comes with selling out ... lol

  • I think Mr. Clapton had a rough road getting to where he is, and while he hasn't always maintained his integrity I think he's earned it back as of late. Imho. Btw - Lifeson is BADASS! Rush!!!!!!!

  • I agree man, in my opinion Ford beats pretty much every blues guitarist, but draws with Carlton :P. He is simply amazing and can do anything on the guitar

  • the name of this song is not indiana blues. its indianola.

  • yeah Rocker! That would be like comparing a Masarati to a Ferrari, a Ford to a Chevy... Maybe a Kitchen Magician to a Vegamatic...Then it comes down to chops vs soul, I've been captivated by players with only a handfull of skill and I've been a steady player since '59.

  • People shouldn't compare blues artists with eachother. The true greats all develop their own styles and techniques . This sounds fine to me. Great even.

  • Awsome Blue's... Love it...

  • Magic!!

  • Louis Pardini is a very tasty add-on to Robben Ford's music.

This is the rocking version of the Yellow Jackets!

Listen to the way how Louis completes Robben's riffs on the guitar!

Ah that is what a guitarplayer wants; a solid second voice.

    This swings!!

Buy the DVD known as "The Paris Concert"

  • got it;)

  • amazing...but its really something special to see him in person.

  • fino vino :o)

  • He's an absolutly groove master.

  • one of the best blues guitar that I 've erver listen...thank robben

  • Whether you think he is "better" or "worse" than other players, the thing about Robben Ford for me, is that his playing always makes me want to pick up my guitar and play.

Incidentally, Robben will be giving a masterclass in London for Guitar Getaways on November 8th - please check our website for more information!

  • The passage at 3:55 is worth the price of admission.

  • Damn!! Robben is labeled a 'blues guitarist' but can pull out some hip jazz/fusion lines out oh nowhere. I love it!

  • Solid!

  • I saw he yesterday night live at Faenza (Ra) Italy...fantastic performance: owesome

  • robben ford is the man of versatility in blues man. any variation of blues, he's the man worth listening to. from traditional blues to fusion blues to everything else! he rocks!

  • I don't think he could ever be compared to Stevie Ray Vaughan, but he could sure play some licks..........

  • why should be be compared?

SRV was great, but Robben Ford is his own person. Comparing the two is juvenile.

Both play "blues" and that's where the comparison ends.

  • Quite rightly so. I couldnt say it better.

  • @mcmillansabq I totally agree! SRV is my idol, but music is not a contest. They both have/had their distinctive sounds and licks!

  • AWESOME!!!

  • Ahhh the sound of a Dumble....warm towel please.

  • He likes Dumbles & Twins...some slapback going on here...this is an amazing video...awesome tone and very calculated playing, yet he manages to still sound spotaneous! Listen to the doubled lines with the keyboards...very cool!

  • he is using dumble amp which is very expensive!which is part of his sound but its not only the amp its his touch on the guitar.he is amazing.

  • Robben Ford with a tele: awesome.

  • When Robben would play my club, it was such a treat. He is my favorite guitarist ever. A couple of times at the end of the evening when it was time to send people out the door, Robben told the audience he would play longer if we could get the drinks up. We would sit there for another hour and listen to the master play. It was always a delight.

  • Folks........that sound Robben gets is in part his technique of pulling a on the string and snapping it off in just the right manner........aka Chet Akins and others have done.

It gives the guitar an almost dobro sound.

and Robben is a master at it!

  • do you know what guitar he is using? I WANT THAT SOUND!

  • I think it is a telecaster ?¿

In the DVD "planyin the blues" (by Robben) don't know if it is in part I or II he explains all the stuff he use (amps, pedals, guitars...).

  • lol i kno its a telecaster, i wana know what year, what pickups ect..

  • @guillamat yes

  • @SublordUtilax123 The sound is mainly created by his amp, which is a Dumble, which is almost the same as a Fender Twin Reverb

  • @sejemandhaha- I wouldn't describe a Dumble as "almost the same" as a Fender Twin except that they both use 12AX7 and 6L6 tubes.

Some further differences: there are probably millions of Twins, but only 300 or so Dumbles; A Twin can be found at the local used store for $500- a Dumble (if it can be found at all) will probably be in the $30,000-$70,000 range.

Lastly, Robben does use a Twin when he is overseas, and he still sounds like himself, but I agree that the Dumble is part of his sound.

  • @davidmmcg I just wanted to let you know, that sounding like, was what I meant by being the almost the same.

  • @SublordUtilax123 Of course Ford is famous for his Dumble but I've seen him play through both a set of Fenders and a Two-Rock and he still sounded like, well.. like Robben Ford. Two of his secret weapons are his Zen Drive (used sparingly) and his digital delay. Being a monster player doesn't hurt either!

  • @SublordUtilax123

He is big fan of Paul Reed Smith

  • @SublordUtilax123

It's NOT just the guitar, he uses ---- he typically uses Dumble amps..also he tends to favour Gibson Les Pauls and a custom-made model by Sakashta Guitars as well as rented Fender amplifiers along with a Zendrive overdrive pedal by Hermida Audio, sometimes . It's all about his ABILITY and LONG EXPERIENCE and not what equipment he uses. Look, Robben Ford, Larry Carlton, Eric Johnson, etc. it's not about equipment, it's all about experience -- they can play WITH ANYTHING!

  • @SublordUtilax123 Doesn't everyone?! It's got a lot to do with the fact that he uses a dumble amplifier. Check out youtube for a demo of one, read the description and you'll understand...

  • I know it, but in the DVD it's written "indiana blues", so I wrote "indiana blues" on the title. I think "indianola" it's the title of the song on the original CD.

  • @guillamat My DVD has the proper name Indianola Blues the name comes from Indianola Mississippi where BB King was born. Check out Indianola Mississippi Seeds BB King my favorite King album.

  • The name of this song is Indianola. The video is from the DVD called Robben Ford - New Morning Paris.
