Same-sex couples should be allowed to marry AND strengthen laws to protect people from having to recognize or participate in any way it if they don't want to. In this way, everyone gets what they want. Churches don't have marry same-sex couples, christian adoption agencies don't have to adopt to same-sex parents and same-sex families can be recognized by the state, affording them their families the same protections, responsibilities and rights that all families will have access to.
